Coursework

The creation of a successful healthcare organization requires a high level of trust and acknowledgement that it is able to provide the level of service and quality that patients expect, and this is supported by the accreditation process. It is important to identify the issues surrounding accreditation and how it impacts organizational success, along with other factors that have a lasting impact on care and treatment for all patients (Schmaltz, Williams, Chassin, Loeb, & Wachter, 2011). These factors represent a means of understanding the impact of patient care quality and how it is impacted by accreditation and other challenges that support a hospital’s focus and commitment to its patients (Schmaltz et.al, 2011)-. Furthermore, it is likely that the level of patient satisfaction will further impact how an organization responds to its need to treat patients effectively and without gaps in treatment and quality of care (Sack et.al, 2011).

Although there are significant challenges related to accreditation that have an impact on an organization over time, perhaps the most significant is the level of quality that is provided to patients, as the accreditation process is essentially an affirmation of a healthcare facility’s commitment to high quality care and treatment (Joshi, 2012). This practice supports the continued growth and development of an organization’s focus on quality and how this impacts the patients who are seen and the level of care that must be administered to all patients in order to prevent unnecessary complications or other issues (Joshi, 2012). By facilitating the accreditation process through the activities that are conducted, it is possible to develop new ideas that will have a lasting impact on outcomes and on the organization and its people, as these activities rely on a well-qualified and focused team to accomplish the intended objectives and the different needs of the patient population as quality becomes increasingly relevant in this context over a period of time (Shrivastava, Shrivastava, & Ramasamy, 2015).
