Constructs Used With Vulnerable Population, Coursework Example

Pages: 1

Words: 360

Coursework

Within vulnerable population groups, it is important to recognize cultural identifiers as part of the approach to treatment (Waite & Calamaro, 2010). For women with psychiatric concerns that require continuous attention and focus, it is important to address culture as a treatment objective in order for patients to express their concerns and values and to make others aware of the needs of patients in an effective manner (Amerson, 2010). These constructs must be used with vulnerable populations and must demonstrate a high level of cultural awareness, sensitivity, competence, and safety through an examination of the needs of each patient and to determine how to effectively treat patients and respect their values and beliefs in the process. Patients in a vulnerable population such as those with psychiatric concerns are likely to benefit from culture as part of the focus of the treatment plan, as it demonstrates a level of attention and awareness to what makes each patient unique and how it impacts their psychiatric health and wellbeing, and may provide some answers regarding how to move forward with treatment in an effective manner.
