Lean

Lean is a concept that it incorporates the creation of more value for the customers while minimizing waste and utilizing lesser resources. The main goal in lean is the provision of perfect value for the customers using a perfect process that creates value and reduces waste. One salient lean tool is the 5s which is a method of developing, cleaning, sustaining and organizing a work environment that is productive.

Six sigma

Six- sigma is a method driven by data with an aim of eliminating defects. Lean sigma, on the other hand, is a concept that blends both lean and six- sigma in order to provide results through the elimination of waste. The methods involved in lean six-sigma method are the use of definition, measurement, analysis, improvement and control approach. The definition implies the consulting the user of the product to identify improvements in the product. The measurement stage involves the use of data to confirm the concerns advanced by the users of the products. Analysis and improvement involve the use of a statistical process to control variation in the production. The success of six-sigma development relies on the organization of management, training, planning system and effective control.

Jurans RCCA

The four phases in Juran’s RCCA approach are the proper identification of the problem, which involves the projections of likely outcomes. The second phase is the diagnosis, which incorporates the use of data collection testing and the definition of the process in the actualization of the results. The following phase is the remedy stage, which involves the development of a solution in order to eradicate the cause of the problem. The final phase in the maintenance of the results achieved in phase three, improving, and sustaining performance.

Continuous innovation

Continuous innovation involves the gradual and modest upgrades and an enhancement of an existing product, which does not change the dynamics of the product or require the consumer to change anything. Product development, on the other hand, involves the creation of new products with new characteristics and dynamics that offer additional benefits to the customer. Evaluation of efficiency in operation, providing improvements, determination of best methods for the process and attaining a competitive advantage is key benchmarking aims. Organizations use benchmarking to determine their level of performance compared to other companies. The organizations also use benchmarking to identify the best practices for production and the improvement opportunities available to the organization. The process of benchmarking benefits the company in the process of identification of problem areas and understanding of opportunities available to the company. Benchmarking helps build support to the process of improvement and minimizes resistance. Benchmarking also assists in the attainment of a data based approach to the process of improvement as opposed to assumptions.

International standards

These standards provide the customer based focus the implications and the motivation of the management. These standards are customer focus, involvement, continual improvement, decision making through the factual approach, leadership, system approach, and beneficial supplier relationships.

Core management tools helps enhance the understanding, gauge results, and prove results in the process of improvement. These tools assist in the enhancement of participation in the desired process, assist in solving problems, enhance analysis and assist in progress monitoring of the relevant processes

Effective measurement

The ten tools for effective measurement are the measurement should have a connection to the organization. The second principle is that the measures should have a balance between the financial and nonfinancial matters. The measures must mix both outcome and data collected over the duration of time. The measures based on definitions based on operations and within the influence circle of the organization. The measure used should be interconnected and be relevant and dynamic while utilizing time.
