Term Paper

Introduction

With the many choices of prepared food or ready-to-eat meals available in the market today, it could seem to be so impossible for one to adapt to a particular health plan while leading a very busy life. However, in the aim of creating a healthier lifestyle, starting with a good and healthy diet plan is the first step to take. In the presentation below, a discussion on how I personally established and disciplined myself towards following a scheduled dietary plan shall be explained. It shall also include a clear identification of further plans I have to impose my healthy eating schedule in a daily approach. With the hope of becoming a healthier individual, I perceive that the new determination I gain from actually seeing the nutrition intake I incur from most of the food types I eat would provide me a chance to look towards the most consistent process of retaining my health’s integrity.

Scale of Nutrition Requirements and Actual Intake

As I have personally observed, I have a considerable average healthy food intake in a daily basis. At the onset of the dietary schedule that has been created, I could say that I was not able to immediately comprehend with the needed developments. Nonetheless, on the second day, knowing what I have lacked during the first day of trial, I have increased gradually in the intake of grain, fruits and vegetables. However, milk intake is seemingly a general need for me to consider. It seems that I am having a hard time taking in milk perhaps simply because of the fact that I do not like so much of the taste and that there are other substitutes for this particular food group. I do think though that by increasing food intake that includes food choices with milk in them I could gradually increase this rate in my personal diet scheme.

I have observed that the remarkable low-level intake on grains, fruits and vegetables on my part has caused some of my mood disorders and grumpy feeling. It seemed like as if I had not enough energy to complete the tasks assigned to me and at some point even lost interest in my responsibilities. Believably, I do think that the status of my diet that contributes to the integrity of my health does reduce my capability to perform well when it comes to responding to responsibilities that I was accounted to complete.

On the other end, while my grain, milk, fruit and vegetable intake was low, my total fat intake is remarkably high. I am a fast food lover simply because of the fact that I lead a very busy life and fast food seems to fill the void that I feel when I am hungry. Because of this I learned to eat to just fill up the uncomfortable feeling of being hungry and not for the need to become healthier, it is just like eating because I have to and not because I want to. The meaning of having a good meal has gradually changed and my culture for healthy living has also downgraded. I have personally placed more importance to other things other than eating. As a result, I often lose sight of what is more important especially when it comes to food intake. It is known that fast food meals are reach in saturated fat specifically because most of the choices offered in such food establishments are fried if not preserved. Being an easier choice rather than picking healthy food, this idealism and perception to eating could actually lead to poor health stability on my part.

This is the reason why I think that the trial process of calculating daily intake of healthier food groups did me well especially in the approach of seeing the actual results of the healthier choices that I make. This activity basically gave me an overview of what I was doing to my body and my health with a clear and measurable understanding of what food groups I need to take in more and what particular others should I lessen in eating. Knowing how good and bad food could affect my personality and even my performance in completing my tasks, I would say that this activity has become an eye-opener to me into seeing how much I have been depriving myself and my body of the nutrition that I need to improve my health’s status.

Implementation of Eating Plan in a Day-to-Day Scope

To make sure that I do follow the day-to-day eating plan, I do think it would help if I practically find a way to give time to eating. This would lessen the chances by which I choose to feed myself with fast food meals. Besides that, giving time for eating could also provide me the right chance to choose and prepare the right meals I need to take in to make sure that I retain good level of energy to complete my tasks throughout the day. These are only a few of the adjustments that I think I need to make.

However, to make sure I do follow the schedule, I shall make a day-to-day record of the meals I intake, what particular food types my meals actually have and what nutritional values they are able to give me. Being conscious does need some effort, and although I know that this religious way of finding the best process of making sure I remain healthy would cause me to set aside time to complete the listings, I do perceive that among all the other things I do every day, this one is very important and I should make time for it. After all, it is a lot better to give time to these important matters now, than to realize it’s worth later on when it is already too late, I would likely be saving more time through this routine than actually going to the hospital for checkups that I could avoid if I eat right.

Nutrients Met and Nutrients Lacking

As it has been mentioned earlier, my intake of milk [from milk itself or milk-based products] should be gradually increased. While my grain, fruit and vegetable intake has already been at the level since I started tracking my nutritional intake in a daily basis, I do think I should keep it at pace and then gradually increase it just the same. Spending more time in the fresh market looking for good food could actually help me conquer this particular challenge. On the other hand, I have to consider slowing down on taking in pre-packed meals, eating in fast food establishments, and other processed meals as these ones are specifically high in fat content which I am in need of decreasing when it comes to my diet schedule. Given that I often eat chicken, mashed potato and canned corn, I do think I should readjust to more fresh choices including fresh fruits and vegetables so as to support the increase of the nutrients I might have a hard time taking.

Conclusion

True, being healthy is a choice. And with the many types of food offerings made available in the market today to fit the busy lives of modern human individuals, making the choice to be healthy may seem to be hard to beat. Believably though, with an implied good effort, success towards becoming healthy could be achieved. Through creating a plan that would be followed in a daily basis, it is expected that health becomes the wealth that everyone owns which no one could ever take.
