Term Paper

Technology is a term, which refers to the making, exemplification, usability, and knowledge over tools, machines, organizational methods, systems of crafts, and other systems of working, which are used to solve problems, improve on the present-time solutions, and epitomize future challenges in order to be ready with the solutions at hand. Technology has been in the world for so many centuries. However, the manner in which it has changed has helped to transform almost everything, which takes place in the world. Information technology refers to the use of tools and mechanisms of skill in order to influence the passage of information, creation, and maintenance of information all over the world. Information technology has been a great boost to the living standards and conditions in the world (Reynolds, 2010).

The technology has been used in all sectors of human interaction together with the earthly materials and bodies. For instance, the present modes of human interactions have been influenced by the presence of computers, machines that have singlehandedly worked with the Internet and enabled human beings reach various parts of the world. Further changes have gradually been happening in the field of information technology, something that has resulted in rampant predictions of the state of information technology in the future.

Future technology that will create a paradigm shift

The main technological facet that will change in the future is the Internet and virtual reality. Considering the trend, which the present technology has across the globe, there is a tremendous influence that the information has. For instance when we consider the nature in which everything is taking place with the use of the information technology in the world, much importance shifts to the changes, which often occur due to modification, or shift in nature and exemplification of information technology. The world has embraced this technology like never before. Everything almost uses a bit of information technology. They vary from human interactions, exchange of information through communication, and the execution of business activities like marketing and selling/buying. Information technology has formed a pillar in every sector of the world. Human life is a replica of the changes and connotations brought by information technology. This is because of the fact that information technology is the backbone of every learning instruction. Learning in the world is almost possible with the use of information technology and nothing else (Reynolds, 2010).

It is with no reasonable doubt that the future technology will be different from the present technology. A century ago, the idea of the existence of technology was something like a mirage. Many of the applications and approaches of technology were still a dream to many people. For instance, no one could believe that one-day people would be able to exchange information most of it livestreamed, through the air and from any part of the world to another. That was a dream that could make an adage. However, today, it is as if a light has dawned at the middle of the night. Technology is taking the world by a swift. Internet is the basis of almost all channels and connotations of information technology across the globe. Therefore, changes in the Internet dictate the moves taken by the information technology in the world. There are various types of technologies in the world. Each bit of technology is changing and creating defined paradigms. For instance, the main technological facet that will change in the future is the Internet and virtual reality. The Internet and virtual reality are bound to change and create a vivid shift of paradigms in the lives of the people and the general appearance and activities in the whole world.

We are living in a world that is a replica of integrated computers and computer applications. Computers are gadgets and programs, which link up to typify the possibilities and existence of information technology in the world. In fact, the generation of computers gave birth to the start of technology in the world. Moreover, computers are a product of technology in the world. As such, lucrative activities, researches, performances, and attempts have been done in the world with these machines called computers. As such, almost every community in the world has embraced the use of computers. The reception, integration, and search of information in the world are taking a skewed dimension due to the presence of computers. Computers are now creating a virtual environment. People in the computer science and application software have learnt the need to change the world through the introduction and use of computers by the people. As such, computerization is a simple directive, which foresees totality of change in the days to come. Almost each day in the world gives rise to a new technological undertaking using computers (Bushko, 2002).

In the future, there is a likelihood of a virtual reality through the Internet use. This involves creation and use of impossible images, knowledge, and skills amongst people in the society just the way computers are being used today.

Domain in which the shift will occur

With the introduction of the Internet and the virtual world, the society will change in various ways. People will be able to embrace new facets of technology using computers. The first shift will occur from the perception of the world. People will be ushered into a new perception, which enables them to embrace and live in the world in a new and palatable approach. Today, most Internet applications, computer uses, and information technology facets are still physical in nature. People have to be involved with something physically in order to yield any fruit. For instance, people have to get hold of their phones in order to make a call. Nurses in the hospital have to view physically a patient in order to advice on medication (National Research Council (U.S.), 1999).

Moreover, people have to connect their computers to a power source in order to access computer applications and uses. As such, this is a world of technology with most of the technological features linking up man together with it through the physical interaction. In the future, this will not still be happening. For instance, five members of an organization will be able to sit together virtually in a meeting, one from Africa, the other one from Britain, possibly London, and the remaining from Brazil. They will be able to hold a meeting right from shaking hands all the way to parting shot, only when they are seated at their home countries, possibly in their seating rooms. This is a new perception that information technology, through the Internet and the virtual world, will have created upon people (Bushko, 2002).

The nature of nigh on being replicated in this case creates a world of the possibility in everything. For instance, people will be able to access different places of the world without making a single visit or movement. Machines will be created in order to make work completely easier. Moreover, the world will capture a virtual scene in that people will be able to interact without having to exist within a single locality (Reynolds, 2010).

The other domain in which the world will shift is on the connection between the Internet and virtual reality. With this domain, the world will exist as a single body, like with one computer system or a central processing unit. The world will be a single and minute reality. Everything in the world will have no meaning unless it is connected to the single processing unit. In most cases, such a domain will replicate variances in the way people access and use the Internet and other information technology facets. Throughout the world, people are able to access the Internet through various connection models and prospects. With the future technology, every computer will be running under a processor that has Internet fixed in it. The world will not have to access and use the information technology even through the computers. Possibilities will be implicit with many Internet applications shifting to being virtual or wireless. The world will thus have a single computer-processing unit, which drives the rest of the computers through different connections.

How it will work, and how it will be different from today’s technology

The future of information technology will be a world of virtual imaging and creation of possibilities from what is now impossible. Initially, the world had embraced an Internet-based communication in which people could exchange information through a wired connection between different locations. This was then followed by the introduction of wireless communication as happens through mobile phones. This is the new information technology now. The future technology, considering this trend of change or shift in paradigms will consist of a virtual communication centre where people will be made to meet and exchange their information through a link between virtuosity and Internet (National Research Council (U.S.), 1999).

The technology will take an example of DNA used in biology and chemistry. With this regard, the information technology facet will be able to change or shift in appearance, use, and advantage from one form to another. The change or transformation of a cell through the DNA will be replicated by the information technology. For instance, people will be able to modify, cleave, and even regenerate things, both living and non-living.

The integration of the Internet together with virtual reality will incorporate other computer information technologies as nanotechnology, a combination of VR technology, gene integration engineering, computers, and bio cybernetics. This is simply a real existence, which makes use of a combination of gene engineering, computer technology, and nanotechnology. These three major criteria of change are likely to be brought by the change in information technology (National Research Council (U.S.), 1999).

As done with the robot world, the future technology will simply replicate the performance and appearance of robots. These are simple machinery and imaginary applications of information technology, which make use of the Internet together with a virtual reality. The unreal in the eyes of men will be real in the same eyes of men. Virtual technology combined with the Internet will yield a precept of movement, interaction, and control, which will be bestowed upon a living, or a non-living organism. For instance, the regeneration process will change or shift the attention of none-communicating objects as robots, to objects, which are able to take, integrate, and respond to vocal human instruction while at any place in the world. The technology will be mired by simple codes, passwords, and intense and invisible wireless connections, unlike the Boolean zeros and ones used by the present technology.

Moreover, the future information technology will be less to handle and more to use. It will be user oriented. The workmanship of the technology will be shifted to a single control system, which takes any instruction without interference. The regeneration processes will be able to make an individual live, die, exist, respond, sleep, and even eat without any physical assistance. It will be a fantastic technology though with side effects or negative effects as on the environment, human life, and the general human interaction. Unlike what is there today, the technology will present simple and easy-to-instill methods and mechanisms of solving problems across the globe (Bushko, 2002).

Conclusion

With the changing pace of technology in the world, the future of information technology can be forecasted. Technology is a masquerading thing, though through human interaction. Technology today will not be the technology tomorrow. Today’s technology is tomorrow’s history of technology. As such, it is equitably good to shift the paradigms of views and perceptions when dealing with such connotations of technology. For instance, information technology is set to change in the fields of Internet and virtual realities. The technology is shifting its eyes to the creation of possibilities from impossibilities, with the impossibilities resting upon the human interaction with it. As such, it is imperative that every department and the entire global community that deal with immense technology and information must focus its attentions on the realities yet to be brought by the technology.
