My perspective of the healthcare system requires an open-minded and flexible strategy that encompasses a number of different areas that will support financial growth and stability with the resources that are available. At the same time, the system must demonstrate a level of practicality that will facilitate effective results in many healthcare markets. The system must provide a high level of primary and preventative care for its patients through increased screening offerings and physical examinations that will enable Americans to be proactive in taking care of their health on a continuous basis, noting the importance of human behavioral decision-making as part of improving health and wellbeing (Kovner & Knickman, 2011).

An effective healthcare system will not depend on political motivations and will serve a practical purpose for the American population (Patel & Rushefsky, 2014). The system will also demonstrate a high degree of efficiency on a cost and spending level, along with the utilization of human capital in a practical manner (Berwick & Hackbarth, 2012). The system must also demonstrate a level of flexibility that will encourage creative opportunities for growth and the ability to provide high quality care at a cost effective level (Smith, Saunders, Stuckhardt, & McGinnis, 2013). These criteria are essential in order to develop a strategy that will expand knowledge and resources for patients in order to improve health and wellbeing. This system, therefore, must rely upon inspired approaches to ensure that patients have access to care and treatment at a consistent level, while also recognizing that they have a responsibility to engage in positive healthy behaviors that will support their wellbeing and quality of life. Therefore, the healthcare system must encompass these directives and provide a basis for examining new strategies to improve successful preventative care and treatment and to achieve the knowledge base that is required to facilitate a successful and sustainable approach to healthcare practice in the United States.
