Interview for Chemical Engineer, Interview Example

Question: 1:

Where did you do your graduate studies in Chemical Engineering? And how do you feel your degree has enabled you to gain career employment in Kuwait?

Answer: I completed my B.S. Chemical Engineering at the University of Alabama in the states

and further completed my Master’s in Engineering from the University of Kuwait a year ago. I

feel my Master’s degree has enabled me to have a more thorough understanding of engineering and its applications to the chemical industry and further enabled me to make approximately 30,000 US Dollars more per year than with a B.S. degree alone.

Question 2:

With that said, what company employs you in Kuwait and what are your daily job duties as a Chemical Engineer? Can you list a few of them for me to better understand your role?

Answer: Sure, I am employed by Dowell-Schlumberger, a fortune 500 oilfield company global company across the states and around the world. I work to improve pipeline flow, give guide to prevention of pipeline restrictions such as use of chemicals to treat pipelines to prevent sludge, ensure proper flow and to ensure the gasoline will be transported to Dowell-Schlumberger petrochemical customers across the globe. Engineers calculate, design and implement designs according to protocols, standards with safety first.

Question 3:

Thank you for that fine answer. Can you tell me in your opinion, what industry is the highest paying industry in which a successful engineer can achieve personal gain and personal financial satisfaction and why you feel this way?

Answer: Yes, the petroleum industry such as I am working now pays the most and second does chemical corporations. I would be able to gain personal rewards and good income in either of these two industries with any stable company. I hope this answers your questions.
