Perhaps due to the existence of the competitive nature of the growing business organizations today, marketing management, as a branch of business operation, receives constant attention as it drives every organization towards competitive stance (Patterson, 2008, 45). This is the reason why it has become a personal goal of the writer of this statement to become a part of this growing field of profession.

What is marketing management about and what is it for? Practically, based from the term itself, this facet of business operation handles the consideration on how products are effectively marketed to the public for appreciation, acceptance and consumption. Relatively, with the growing competition among businesses, the innovation on how marketing personnel handle their responsibilities have taken great steps towards progress through the years. Not to mention the involvement of Information Technology on the process, the manner of development that the field of marketing management takes into consideration is currently at its fastest pace (Lenskold, 2003). True, the challenge is high, the opportunities presented are of their highest peak and the chance to succeed will highly depend on how competent a person would be to handle the responsibilities included with the said position in business development.

This is the reason why students who endeavor in embracing the possibility of enjoining in the team of high-graded marketing management personnel in the actual world are advised to take on the most competent sources of practice and training they could get before they are to actually embrace the tasks and duties included in the said position.

The use of information technology in the process makes the said position even more challenging. Hence, as a goal, it is the desire of the author of this SOW that the aspect of innovation be considered as a personal culture of development. Looking for something new and learning more from the field is what makes this particular goal realizable. The internet may provide a good source for such strategies in marketing management that is embraced by most organizations today. Nevertheless, it is the process of personal survey and being actually involved in the condition of examining the market that is targeted by a particular industry or a particular organization that pays the best results.

Part of innovative marketing management is to know what the current trend is as suggested by the market. Relatively, this could only be realized through the application of proper research and direct observational process. True, all these procedures would require time, effort and perhaps even a relative amount of financial support. Nevertheless, the learning and the development that could be taken from them mean so much when it comes to creating one’s path towards personal progress. When such practices are utilized and embraced by an individual, then becoming an asset in any organization as a marketing manager becomes a reachable career goal.

Planned Internship Strategy

Practical learning in the field of marketing management could only be fully realized under the condition of being involved in an effective system of internship. The author of this SOW intends to follow the following procedures to be able to find a proper internship that would not only provide proper learning but also shall prove to be a source of practical development for the said individual:

  1. Continuous learning process that shall be taken into consideration at least three times a week with two hour straight of research and theoretical-case-study practices

This process shall involve a religious and strict following of schedule on the part of the individual who wants to get most from whatever is learned from the resourced found both online and offline. The references to be read from by the individual involved shall include books and journals from online and offline libraries that could be visited. If instances of actual consideration of resources is to be needed, then actual interviews with marketing management officers would best help in relation to this desire.

From these references, particular theories are expected to be learned. Their application towards actual situations could be tested through joining in online forums that are opened by marketing management enthusiasts. This will enable the individual to actually test whether or not he understood what is imposed in each theory learned upon research.
