Introduction
In the Riverbend City example, some of the nursing staff members are experiencing difficult challenges within the team environment and have not been able to effectively adjust to the situation as a whole. In addition, it has been difficult to manage the different aspects of the situation from a nursing point of view, due in large part to difficulties within the team that have limited progress in different ways. For example, Candace and Jill appear to be resentful of Alan for different reasons, yet it also appears to cloud their judgment and their ability to work effectively within the group without some degree of animosity. For these reasons, the team dynamic is somewhat fractured and requires some degree of support in order to manage these conditions properly. As a result, these issues require further examination in order to effectively promote a dynamic of change and progress that will have a positive impact on the team and their overall experiences.
Body
For each team member within the group, it is of critical importance to develop a strategic approach to the team environment that will have a positive and lasting impact on the team as it moves forward. In order to achieve these expectations, it is important to identify specific factors that will contribute to the overall development of the team and its overall cohesiveness. It is important for each team member to be able to communicate at a high level and to build an environment in which there are significant factors related to change and progress that the team is able to build upon as it moves forward. This process requires each member to provide an active and meaningful contribution to the team and to make the most of a given situation through the efforts that are made to produce effective results.
It is expected that a strong communication strategy will make an important difference in the nursing practice setting, as this enables nurse leaders to determine which strategy may be best suited for their team and what is required to meet expectations of the entire team as a whole. Effective team communication is not easily achieved; therefore, this requires a number of elements that are likely to impact the group and its activities moving forward. When communication is weakened, it is possible that this could deter from achieving real progress and in minimizing the opportunities that are available to support productivity. However, it should also be recognized that some actions are related to the overall ability of the team to make a difference in the lives of its members, and as a result, this requires a higher level of support and guidance for the team and its leadership infrastructure (Rabol, McPhail, Ostergaard, Andersen, & Morgensen, 2012).
The ability to effectively communicate within the team environment requires a significant level of focus and support in order to effectively achieve the intended outcomes for the group and its members. This process is essential to the overall development of the team dynamic and to determine how a group is weakened by its differences in many ways. As a result, other factors must be considered in order to manage the conditions surrounding communication and to determine what is required to ensure that the nurse leader is able to share his or her vision in a positive manner with other team members. Team-based growth with a given communication strategy requires a number of critical elements that impact a team and what is required to improve this dynamic over time. There must be a cohesive approach in place that will be used to accommodate patient needs and to effectively manage the conditions under which nurses are able to promote a cohesive team-based environment, such as through debriefing and other skills to improve communication over time (Nwokorie, Svoboda, Rovito, & Krugman, 2012).
Behavioral change within a team environment requires a greater focus and understanding of the team dynamic and how individual members contribute to the team as a whole. This process is important because it conveys the realities of behaviors within the team dynamic and to determine what is required to improve behaviors within the group over time. This process demonstrates the importance of shaping an environment of change with a leadership structure that will have a lasting impact on the team unit as a whole. This process will also demonstrate the realities of individual behaviors within at team environment and to determine what steps are required to ensure that each member possesses the motivation and drive that is necessary to overcome negative behaviors in a variety of contexts (Ilgen, 2014). This process is relevant because it captures the spirit of the group and the overall understanding of each individual’s behavior and how this affects the group as a whole (Ilgen, 2014). In addition, it is important to identify the specific factors whereby team members lack trust in each other, thereby contributing to the negative consequences of the team dynamic and what is required to ensure that its members are prepared to trust each other, in spite of behavioral conditions (Brown, Crossley, & Robinson, 2014).
Conclusion
In the example case, the nurses working in the Riverbend City case require an examination of the different tools that impact the group and its behavior. Each team member must be able to contribute at a high level and with a set of positive and meaningful behaviors that will have a lasting impact on the group. This will ensure that the team possesses a cohesive strategy, is able to communicate at a high level, and is able to recognize negative behaviors and aim to minimize these behaviors as much as possible in order to improve the team’s performance and long-term potential.
