It is worth noting that both the 4D schedule that enhance the driving of 4D scheduling and 3D planning is both intangible and intangible moments. Thus, one ought to consider several factors such as the risks involved, the quality therein, substantial tangible gains as well as the models of communication that is used in the entire process. One aspect that is critical while using 4D planning is that it quickly changes and challenges many of the practices that are involved in conventional scheduling. In other words, it allows the scheduler to think differently and adjust different ways that need to be scheduled and developed (Benjaoran and Bhokha, 2010, p 400)

A 4D planning allows the scheduler to access a ringside seat to the construction site. The aspect is essential as the scheduler can quickly access the site and move around, look inside, look outside as well as access the building of the website soon.

The other aspect of 4D planning is that it enables the management of details. In other words, all the issues, as well as the necessary information of the constriction, are accessed with ease. During the early stages of construction, such as drawing of sketches, there may be no need of using the 4D schedules. However, as time goes, the 4D becomes vital in accessing the necessary details of construction (Miller, Doh and Mulvey, 2015, p 330).

The management of both the hard and the soft logic requires the visual schedules that discourage generalization. The best schedule plan is thus a 4D rather than using the 3D. The long duration activities that have overlapping relationships requires planning. Therefore, since a 4D program is more detailed, it is preferred to the 3D model of planning. It is worth noting that a 4D plan adds an actual new dimension to the schedule. However, it doesn’t support facets of current scheduling process (Mahalingam, Kashyap and Mahajan, 2010 p 140).
