The DNP Project, Coursework Example

The DNP project is the culmination of all of the activities, educational requirements, and experiences that students have been preparing for throughout their academic careers. Therefore, it requires a skilled and expert level of knowledge and preparedness in order to achieve the intended objectives. There must be a strong planning and implementation approach in place so that the project is properly executed and delivers on the intended area of focus. This strategy requires clinical knowledge and insight in order to identify critical evidence that will support the topic effectively, while also considering factors that will support generalization of the focus area for the practice environment (Hobin et.al, 2012; Brown & Crabtree, 2013). It is expected that at the DNP level, there will be significant strides made regarding the application of the focus area to translational research and to have an impact on the public health sector (Woolf, 2008). Through translational research, it is possible to establish a greater understanding of the subject matter and to integrate the concept into daily practice to have a lasting impact on public health and wellbeing.

Translational research provides a supportive strategy and facilitates the identification of an intervention that is required and to determine how to achieve the intended outcomes. However, it is possible to achieve these objectives when utilizing evidence-based practice to address the parameters of the intervention and to properly execute it, using prior evidence as a guide (Levin & Feldman, 2006). This perspective supports the continued growth and development of a strategy that will lead to desirable results and will address a public health concern that impacts a population in one way or another. Therefore, it is important to identify these challenges and to move forward with a translational research approach that is realistic and appropriate in order to achieve the desired results in an effective manner, while also advancing a public health issue to the next level.
