Introduction

Healthcare delivery systems take on many different forms and represent a means of promoting the delivery and care and treatment for specific patient populations. These systems require strategies that will be effective in improving quality of care and in reaching as many patients as possible through a comprehensive healthcare model. Therefore, the chosen model must convey the importance of developing a strategy that encompasses new ideas and approaches to improve healthcare outcomes and to recognize patient care needs through the type of services that are provided. Therefore, an examination of private versus socialized/universal healthcare systems must be examined in the context of their service offerings available for special populations. Each type of strategy requires significant resources and a comprehensive model to enhance patient care quality and resources for all patients, while also considering other factors that influence outcomes and support a framework for success and achievement.

Body

Affordable access to care and treatment for special populations is often underestimated in private healthcare organizations, particularly if residents do not qualify for these services due to lack of coverage due to employment or other challenges (Reid, 2010). In this capacity, it is important to identify the specific areas whereby healthcare access is limited through private insurance and to understand how the healthcare system operates in order to accomplish the intended objectives in treating as many patients as possible using high quality tools and resources in this manner (Reid, 2010). There are a number of advantages to private healthcare organizations when access is readily available, such as the ability to receive services that are of the highest possible quality, to obtain access to physicians and health information in a rapid format, and to be supportive of a patient-centered approach that places patients above all other priorities (Stallworthy, Baohene, Ohiri, Pamba, & Knezovich, 2014). These factors demonstrate the importance of a cohesive approach to private insurance coverage that will have a positive impact on those who are insured through this system; furthermore, the system must embody the principles associated with high quality healthcare in order to improve patient health and wellbeing on a consistent basis (Stallorthy et.al, 2014). Specialty populations are likely to benefit from these tools when they possess access to insurance and when they are provided with the tools and resources required to receive proper care and treatment in the desired manner (Stallworthy et.al, 2014). It is important to identify the specific factors that contribute to a positive healthcare experience for those who receive care and treatment under a private healthcare organization.

Universal or socialized healthcare systems, on the other hand, are designed to provide all persons with access to healthcare coverage and services that strive to improve their health and wellbeing. The progression of universal healthcare in the United States continues to evolve and to create new opportunities for the insured to gain access to much-needed services that were not previously available (McKee, Balabanova, Basu, Ricciardi, & Stuckler, 2013). These practices require healthcare providers to expand their reach and to promote new ideas that encourage access for all persons regardless of need, including specialty populations with specific requirements that may not always be covered by private insurance. There are specific challenges that may have a lasting impact on access to care and treatment; therefore, these resources must demonstrate the importance of providing access to care for all persons, particularly those who do not always have access at the necessary level. Most importantly, universal healthcare systems embody a set of struggles that are difficult to overcome because they have a significant impact on health status and disparities among population groups (Starr, 2013). There are significant conflicts associated with healthcare strategies because they do not always consider special populations; therefore, a universal system must be able to embrace this knowledge and support the development of new directions in achieving greater access to healthcare and treatment on a consistent basis to meet the desired outcomes (Starr, 2013). From this perspective, it is necessary to consider universal healthcare systems as an opportunity to provide coverage as promised to all groups, including specialized and vulnerable populations who face significant risks and challenges that require access to care and treatment (Starr, 2013).

Conclusion

The effectiveness of private and universal healthcare systems is dependent on a number of factors that have a lasting impact on health outcomes for many people. Each system possesses its own set of strengths and weaknesses, depending on specific perspectives; therefore, it is important to determine how each system will provide the end users, its patients, with the tools and resources that are required to meet their healthcare needs effectively and on a continuous basis. This process will demonstrate the importance of both types of healthcare systems, but most importantly, it will aim to provide as many patients as possible with access to healthcare resources. This is likely to be best achieved through a combination of resources that will be effective in supporting an environment that provides healthcare access to all persons, particularly those in special populations who are unable to access healthcare services on a continuous basis. These efforts will convey the importance of a universal healthcare system as part of a larger framework to achieve greater success and support in favor of advancing positive healthcare outcomes for all persons. With these considerations in mind, healthcare systems must be mindful of the differences in coverage and how their patients are able to receive care and treatment under specific conditions.
