The Public’s Perception of Certification, Coursework Example

Pages: 1

Words: 385

Coursework

An individual’s or organization’s accreditation or certification standing serves as a key facilitator in advancing healthcare objectives and treatment options for many patients. This level of support and backing for an individual or organization facilitates trust and understanding of the knowledge and resources that they are able to provide to patients and throughout healthcare practice (American Nurses Credentialing Center, 2014). Credentials are critical to the success of individual healthcare practitioners and support the knowledge base that exists within an organization (Jeffries, 2013). In this capacity, healthcare workers must demonstrate their vast knowledge, level of comfort, and technical skills in working in direct patient care and in other areas that impact the practice environment.

It is necessary to evaluate the different conditions under which organizations are able to promote patient safety through accreditation, as this supports an environment that is directly focused on patient care needs above all else (Morris, 2012). The growth of organizational objectives and the promotion of patient safety are accomplished through a comprehensive effort to utilize skills and resources effectively to meet healthcare needs (Morris, 2012). Furthermore, it is likely that many patients will experience a higher level of comfort and satisfaction with their treatment and care when they are aware that providing organization has full accreditation and a certified group of professionals who are able to provide expert care on a continuous basis to serve patients in a successful manner (Sack et.al, 2011). The overall quality of care that is provided by professionals will demonstrate the importance of treating patients in order to improve quality of life and patient satisfaction on a continuous basis (Sack et.al, 2011). It is critical that healthcare providers aim to support patient care excellence and treatment through improved access to care and the ability to support patient needs in a variety of areas.
