The issue of whether or not to market food choices to children has affected the health choices of parents being affected by the powers of commerce and how they affect the thinking of the young ones. Most likely, the most appealing advertisements specifically respond to what the children fancies rather than on what they actually need. Relatively, it could be analyzed then in line with the desire to make it easier for parents to decide on the decision in consideration with their children’s health, the establishment of a more ethical guideline in releasing marketing campaign on children’s food is being proposed in the study noted by Mat Walton in his study entitled “An Ethical Evaluation of Evidence: A Stewardship Approach to Public Health Policy”. This presentation specifically indicates how commercial pursuits of several companies around the globe tend to entangle with the rightful desires of the public health organizations to manage the attention of the public towards consuming healthier foods. This especially includes the commercial campaigns dedicated to get the attention of children who are considered to be most vulnerable to such invitations.

Herein, the utilization of the Stewardship framework[1] is suggested. This framework corresponds with the principles of public health code regarding the fact that people and their physical environment are interdependent[2]; hence, imposing that controlling what media presents could largely affect the collaborative aspect of promoting good health for the human society to realize[3]. In consideration with this, it is then highly considered that a relative approach to minimizing commercials of unhealthy food for children be pursued so as to give the parents a primary initiative to set the nutrition source of their children instead of being pressured by the campaigns imposed by the commercial industry.

This operation of health control on commercial operations is just right and specifically coincides with my personal values. I do personally believe that in a way, the manner by which media affects the children’s perception about good food greatly impacts the promotion of good health in the society. Notably, I do support the idea that controlling its campaign procedures be held effectively in line with the need to contribute to good health perceptions of the society.
