Imagine yourself to be a Mesopotamian woman

I agree with the student that a Mesopotamian woman should obey and assume the gender roles granted to them, such as either a daughter or a wife. When the woman is married, they tend to be part of the family of the groom. Generally, this is considered presentism. I agree with the student that as a daughter and wife, a woman should have the will to pursue her education and professional development (Merriam, n.d). Otherwise, there are similarities to the Mesopotamian woman whereby women feel connected to staying at home and cooking, cleaning, and caring for children and society. In Babylonia, marriage was sealed by a dowry contract, while in Mesopotamia, it dealt with arranged marriages. It is distinctive from the student’s perspective.
