Why I Want to Study Game Design, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 314

Essay

I am interested in enrolling in the Master of Science Digital Media program at Drexel University. For many years, I have been interested in understanding the computational and graphical skills necessary to design my own computer and video games. While I do not have a background in programming, I do believe that I have the necessary math skills that would help me quickly develop an understanding of the coding needed to program games. Furthermore, I expect that my creativity will assist me in this endeavor, as I already understand the existing structure of many current games and believe that I would be able to modify these formats to create an even more entertaining program.

Overall, I already have the creative thinking skills and logical understanding of video games that would allow me to create new and exciting concepts. However, I need to gain experience using design programs in order to make my dream a reality. I am therefore interested in joining your program because I believe that Drexel University could provide me with the skills that I need in order to make my storyline ideas come to life. Many friends and family members have expressed that the concepts I have developed would be marketable, but to get to this point, I need to be able to convert my thoughts to physical software. As a consequence, I believe that I would be able to work with current students in a manner that would promote an exchange of skills. Since many students already have the technological background for game design and I have experience with creative thinking, I believe we would be able to collaborate in order to generate successful projects.

I believe that Drexel University would be a good fit for me because your program will help me grow and develop my physical game design skills. I look forward to hearing from you regarding my application status.
