Essay

Conflicts may arise, needing various methods of conflict resolution to see through the managing of conflict and possible resolution. In the intervention of conflict, third parties, negotiators, or mediation may come in handy and be used to resolve conflict. In the case where these are not provided or lacking, there is the need to come up with a way to resolve the conflict without the use of third parties. The following paper offers insight into such a case, offering a way of resolving conflict without the use of third parties. Several factors coiled lead to the absence of a third party, negotiation, or mediation interventions, such as the case that gave rise to the paper of Afghanistan in 2022 and the involvement of the United States.

The situation in Afghanistan involves the differences in views between the Afghan government and the Taliban forces. The difference between these two groups has led to the involvement of the United Nations in a way that does not make them a third party, mediator, or negotiator. The United Nations is involved in this conflict between the Afghan government and the Taliban. The format that the United Nations is involved in helping in this conflict is in the form of offering host services and supporting roles.

The United Nations, through its services and resources, contributes to the effort of resolving this conflict by acting as hosts for the parties of the government and Taliban to meet and discuss their conflict. The role of the United Nations as a supporting role also has been in play in this situation. Because of this, the two parties/groups are in discussion, with high stakes on the possibility of a guaranteed success in resolving the conflict.
