Each day organizations are continuously growing, and it creates a high demand for employing more potential candidates. However, this outcome requires an approach that is systematic in determining the right candidate for the position. This has become an increasing need for Human Resource Management department to employ their specialized skills in providing the functions of job analysis that help in selecting the right individual for each position. It is a vital and complex aspect of every HRM department, as well as a fundamental process that is systematic to be utilized in each organization for their future of their workforce. According to our notes on job analysis it is processed of studying jobs to collect, examine, synthesize and relay information about the responsibilities and requirements of jobs and the performance of work under certain conditions. In addition, we take a look at the internal job structure in which we conducted the job analysis, gave a description for the job, evaluated the job against others in the organization, and perceived its relative value. A job analysis characterizes the work, exercises, assignments, goals, items, administrations, or procedures needed to perform a specific job. It gathers insights about work exercises, human practices; machine, apparatuses, supplies and work helps, execution gages, job connection, and human prerequisites. These thusly help to distinguish the knowledge; aptitudes and capacities needed to perform the job. An essential element to note is that in this methodology, analysis is led at work, not the individual, which additionally brings about a depiction of the job and not the individual.
HRM perceives that the individuals make the association and furnish the organization with a competitive advantage. The point is to help the association in utilizing individuals to attain the organizations goals. A Job analysis is a key movement in HR and gives data in regards to positions in the association. It is a vital theme as it is a basic livelihood device which can support with HR exercises and potential and employees that are current in the organization. In conducting this job analysis what was learned, is what was discussed in class. Much like the pay scale that matched Mr. Packer’s position. His position as an inventory management specialist at the local Wal-Mart. His position required him to not only oversee an entire department, but take on the characteristics of HR in which he meets with the department, customers, and make sure the corporate environment of Wal-Mart is satisfactory. Looking at the internal job alignment, and how it fits into the organizational structure, it relates to the perspectives of compensation. This consists of the stockholders, society’s, employees, and managers’ view on how they should be paid. In Mr. Packer’s position, he was compensated at a higher rate than other hourly workers. Those that were in a higher position had more education, experienced, and training. Besides his monetary compensation he also had various benefits that included, insurance plans, stock options, and commissions. However, his compensation as well as other wages paid by Wal-Mart do not match up to the market.
In furthering relating to what was learned from conducting this job analysis, it showed Mr.Packer’s valued in the grand scheme of things at the organizational structure in Wal-Mart. While he wasn’t at the very top, his position was high enough to invoke some authority and seniorship over other employees, which raises his value and compensation. Based on his skills and experience he has a high level of competitiveness in the organization that seems also to be a factor in his compensation. In taking his skills, his experience, and abilities it helps in being compensated at a fairly high rate compared to other employees. This job analysis and all its aspects in looking at the how HRM chooses employees, it helps in determining their compensation and if they are right for the position. Mr. Packer was an excellent example of an employee in a higher position, within a larger organization that dealt with market factors.
