Essay

Item 1

Adolescence is an important developmental phase. Moreover, it is a period with vital physical, emotional, mental developments. Despite the robust physical well being, teenage behaviors which may lead to significant long-life challenges coupled up with high death rates and morbidity. The HEADSSS system of the medical review will enable medical practitioners to review and asses Michaels’s behaviors’ in order to devise proper medical interventions (Komaki, 2018). HEADSSS is an approved way of engaging in constructive dialogue with adolescents in order to handle the numerous challenges they face on a day to day basis. A properly undertaken HEADSSS assessment helps eases anxiety, promote rapport, trust, and enhance disclosure between Michael and the therapist so that the clinician can properly ascertain the emotional, social or underlying issues behind Michaels’s issues such as bullying, domestic violence or social issues such as poverty.

The reason I would use the ADI tool owes to its ability to asses alcohol use in teenagers with a myriad d of issues such as psychological, emotional or behavioral issues (Komaki, 2018, p. 10). Additionally, it also identifies teens that require more assessment or further treatment.
