Schizophrenia is a type of mental disorder that can occur in any individual with one’s age notwithstanding. An individual suffering from Schizophrenia potrays some weird characteristics which may include psuchosis, agitation, bizarre behavioyrs, onfusion , and social withdrawal among others. ALaine, a middle-aged man once suffered Schizophrenia. Initially no one understood what his weird behavior was all about. He showed signs of confusion and frustrations in all his deeds and everyone thought maybe he had some frustrations at his work place. His arguments were always unsolicited and unbecoming and this therefore baffled many people including his neihbours and relatives. Little did anyone know that Alaine was schizophreni until one evening when his mother sought to find from him why he had not paid the electricity bill whereby he replied to his mother by punching her on the chest.  Many people who came to rescue the mother made out that Alaine exuded some kind of mental disorder because of his uncommon insults and pleaded with the family to take him to the physician as soon as possible. This was done and upon the doctor’s examinations upon reaching the hospital was that Alaine was schizophrenic. Schizophrenia is dangerous mental disorder that calls for one’s immediate medical attention upon diagnosis. Several treatments suitable for individuals suffering from schizophrenia are available. It is important the family psychotherapists be engaged in helping people improve their social and work skills. This is important for the once’ victims to rebuild their lives and relationships with others especially Alaine who needs the family’s support. Most family members need this therapy to understand when someone in the family is dealing with mental illness. In conclusion, it is important to note that suffering from schizophrenia does not mean one has lost their right, dignity, and worth. Schizophrenics should be treated with respect accordingly. The same way one can express oneself upon visiting a physician is the same way schizophrenics should be accorded chances to express themselves.
