A Physician’s Assistant, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 344

Essay

Although I believe that I currently have a comprehensive understanding of the basic sciences due to my status as a pharmacy graduate, I wish to gain a greater understanding of how this information relates to human health. As an undergraduate student, I immersed myself in laboratory based courses and high level biological seminars to learn about the chemical and physical interactions that allow the human body to function properly. However, I wish to use the knowledge and skills I have acquired to help other’s achieve an access to health care they deserve. As a physician’s assistant, I know that I will be able to implement my current understanding of the sciences to promote excellent evidence-based practice. I wish to become a physician’s assistant instead of a physician or nurse practitioner because this position will allow me to have a significant access to patient care in a manner that is best able to support the health of the patient in a hospital setting.

Overall, I wish to enroll in the physician assistant course because I am dedicated to helping others. However, I also believe that I have the unique ability to easily synthesize the information I learn from coursework, hands-on experiences, and information provided in peer-reviewed literature to serve as a foundation for practice. I am not only interested in learning the basic skills necessary as a physician assistant, but also to go beyond this understanding and contribute to research in the field. I believe that the best practitioners are also those who are highly concerned with improving their field of practice, which is why I think that I would be successful in this field. However, to get started, I need the help of distinguished mentors and teachers to guide my through this process. I know that as a student in the physician assistant course, I will be able to gain the basic scientific and practice-based skills I need to begin and maintain a successful career. I know that with your help, I will be put on the right path to be able to help others.
