More often, cultural upbringing bears a magnitude impact on an individual’s lifestyle, reaction and holds more significant leverage on the personality of an individual. Through the interaction, social exposure from childhood, fundamental pros and cons laid by the family, daily routines and observable role models, a person’s character defined (Makrani 20).

My name is Salah Alfadhli, 31 years of Kuwaiti origin currently settled in the United States with My family. I’m married to one wife with three children. I hail from a family established on a firm Islamic foundation owing to my father’s religious capacity as an Imam and my mum’s dedication to religious dictates. Being military, my dad Mr. Jassim Alfadhli had adopted and created a strict, disciplined family with insignificant room for undignified engagements. All through our life in the presence of dad, we had been made to understand and appreciate the element of humanity as the underlying principals and guideline for the human drive. Furthermore, the event of death taking my father during Iraq’s invasion of our land, while in the act of saving his friend and protecting the nation serves a complete confession to the value to humanity.

Critically, self-dedication and ambitious lifestyle as bolstered by the mother, who by act or design happened to be a college tutor and a motivational speaker in the supplement. The atmosphere augmented well to our unending appetite of setting standards in life. All these summed up, influenced my career escalation right from high school and into the first job as the assistant operations manager at a local travel firm.

My professional flow rangers from an assistant operation manager, dealing with daily logistical requirements of the operation to the subsequent volunteer service in the military as the communications and logistical coordinator at Kuwait’s military. In a real submission, taking up the job as a volunteer in the army was a tearing decision as I had to sacrifice much of my personal affairs and interests for the core ambition fitting into my father’s shoes to fulfill his dream. I, however, withdrew my service from the military and joined construction company as the team leader in charge of supplying construction materials which I subsequently abandoned for the personal adventure into business.

From the construction company, Alfulaij United Group Company, I opened my firm, Chocoriver, that outsources raw cacao and deals in the production of chocolate for retail distributorship. All this time while running the company, I came to learn and understand several challenges of globalization and open interaction. Meeting people of different races, religion, and moral upbringing has created wavering stability in my entire career. This field marred with brokering cartels and corrupt characters granted a leeway for temptations to streamed my way.

Following my tight schedules between managing the business in congruent with the pending academic ambition of obtaining the MPA at the Florida International University, delegating some sensitive responsibilities became vital. It is at this point that I came to understand the operandi of my firm in my absence.  A brewing racial discrimination had hit its pick behind my back. Several staffs had faced harsh dismissal, and furthermore, corruption had conquered the operations. All the procurement was done in oblique format to the extreme that tracking the transaction documents had become barely impossible.

The cropping situation, however, brought back into my memory my undergraduate lecture’s dictum; character is the creation of the society. While any laymen would prematurely describe them as uncivilized and primitive, clearly, the corrupt fellows lacked morally modeling during the minority age. Apparently, the discriminative individuals too owed their characters to the remote exposure and appreciation of social diversity existing in the current globe.

The real challenge, however, struck me in the business bedrock; acquisition of the materials from direct farmers to avoid enormous purchase costs and to champion the integrity deficit, which saw me almost face outright sabotage from suppliers. The subversion in itself was turnaround call for opting for recommendable approaches. With the stable foundation of sharp mind and daring character brood by strict dad and religious doctrines, I had circumvented my ways into Sri Lanka to meet the farmers and set terms of engagement.

In conclusion, for parents and youth audience, it should not be forgotten that success in one’s dramatically lies in their endless focus and routine setting of ambitions. Furthermore, enthusiasm knows no age limit. Parents are equally informed to create a better social background exposing their children to morally upright future generation. Critical of all, humanity should be the preeminent life drive.
