At the dawn of the 19th century, when historians began to engage in distinctively plotting out the outlines of what is now noted as the authorized and valid presentation of year-bound notes of human history, Africa was at some point set aside. Although several historians and explorers have put forth distinct effort in identifying such condition of development in identifying what really makes up the African community and its people, the blanket of occurrences in the past that covered the being of the African community, especially related to becoming slaves of the more superior races in the world, historians became less interested in the said manner of exploration.
To note, some of the most compelling comments garnered from such historians include a distinct insistence on how the African community dwelled in non-recognition of growth and communal development. Samuel Baker (as noted in the video) even mentioned about the Negro community as being a group of rudimental individuals who are incapable of thinking about improvement and are considered to likely be unable of finding ways to innovate their lives and develop a more distinct culture that could protect their being accordingly. These words have affected the way the African society and its people have been recognized accordingly.
Nevertheless, at the verge of the European Renaissance, the distinction of equality between colors and cultures have been improved and campaigned about. The emergence of slavery culture has again changed such status on the supposed beginning by which people are likely to dwell in equality and unity towards advancement. As this era in history passed, the recognition of the need to know more about Africa has again regained its appeal in the field of historical discovery, exploration and recording.
As the world opens its minds to a more distinct option of knowing people based on who they really are and not on how they have been stereotyped to be known, the African history has been explored well and revealed fascinating facts about the people. One is the fact that Africans lived alongside nature; and that such system of living has allowed them to become more innovative in utilizing what nature offers them for the sake of improving their lives and developing a more consistent process of creating defenses through taming wild beasts such as elephants. Standing as their gods and their protectors, elephants are among the most recognized and celebrated animals in the country. The people respected nature and in return, nature itself protected them. There is no doubt that African people learned to live along the environment that they are engaged in. Considerably, it could be analyzed that with such involvement and developmental consideration, people in the country have become more accustomed to a life that is attached to the nature surrounding them and the elements included in it.
True to its sense, the clarity of the African people’s being notes how history has been redefined to show only a little about their wonderful background. Nevertheless, with facts being presented today as the basis of the actual development that the world is dependent upon, Africa’s history does not only entail to fascinate the people, it also entails to create a distinct connection between history and how supposedly the African people should be able to thrive against the massive discrimination they receive from the current modern society. The degrading treatment they get from the global community is expected to diminish [although not completely] once the goodness of their history is given proper attention to. Believably, knowing more about the African past shall help the world embrace a more balanced manner of seeing and recognizing the goodness of its people.
