Patients must experience a sense of comfort and trust in the care that they receive in the healthcare setting. Healthcare providers must offer ethically responsible, patient-centered care on a continuous basis. This focus is essential to not only promote greater health and wellbeing for patients, but also to demonstrate that clinicians focus on the patient above all else, regardless of environmental factors (Epstein et.al, 2010). Patients must be treated under the best possible conditions and should be confident that their care is of optimal quality (Epstein et.al, 2010). This process requires nurses and other healthcare providers must be successful in their efforts to treat patients with a variety of diverse needs (Epstein et.al, 2010).

Analysis

Healthcare providers must be able to provide patients with a goal-oriented strategy to manage their care to improve quality of life (Reuben & Tinetti, 2012). With a goal-oriented approach, patient care must be timely and place an emphasis on the needs of the patient above all other priorities (Reuben & Tinetti, 2012). The culture of the healthcare environment must also be ethically sound and appropriate to meet patient care needs at all levels. It is expected that the healthcare environment will offer patients a sense of comfort and understanding that will guide them through the treatment process, while also gaining support from nurses and other providers.

Conclusion

Patients must be provided with high quality care at all times in the healthcare setting, thereby requiring a high level of ethical responsibility and adherence to existing policies and guidelines in order to ensure that patient outcomes are effective and appropriate at all times. Patients who gain a greater sense of trust within the surrounding environment are likely to feel comfortable with the care that they are provided and the professionals that support their needs in the healthcare setting.
