A Visit to Alien Planet, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 571

Essay

I took in my surroundings as I exited the spacecraft. The sky was a dark purple color, and the air felt dense and strange. I was by myself and on a strange planet. As a part of a research expedition to investigate the planet and gather data, I was dispatched here. I was the only member of the group to survive a crash landing and reach the surface. I was unable to get in touch with the rest of my crew at the station since my communication equipment was broken.

Finding a source of food and water was my first challenge. I was short on supplies and needed to locate a sustainable source as soon as possible. I continued looking about and found a creek, but I wasn’t sure if the water was safe to drink, even though it appeared to be. I chose to return a sample to the ship for examination, and the results revealed that the water was secure. I was confident that I would find food quickly now that I had water. A strange entity approached me as I was thinking about my predicament. Nothing I had ever seen before could compare to it.

With its tall, slim build and shimmering blue skin, the alien’s look was unlike anything I had ever seen. It started speaking to me in a language I couldn’t comprehend just as I turned around to run the other way. I couldn’t make out any single word, for the language spoken was alien to me. From the body language, I could tell that the alien meant no harm and was suggesting, through gestures, something to do with eating. It was then that I remembered Albert Einstein’s words, “Coincidence is God’s way of remaining anonymous.” My prayers had been answered. I followed the creature blindly into the thickets.

The creature reached out to the thickets and pulled out two huge fruits, handed me one, and used gestures to inform me that I should eat it. I was initially hesitant but eventually gave in to my hunger and took a bite. It was juicy and sweet, unlike anything I had tasted.

I got a headache, felt queasy, and had no idea what day it was when I woke up. I concluded that the fruit had to be lethal. Surprisingly enough, the alien was on standby, holding my mug with water and offering it to me to drink. I was appreciative of the creature, and we became friends. It was the only creature of its kind on the planet, and I later discovered that it was trying to find a means to contact other creatures of its sort. In exchange for my assistance in helping it create a tool that allowed it to communicate with others of its kind, the creature assisted me in locating other sources of food and water. At the same time, the crew back at the station might have noticed my disappearance via the radar, and I was happy to notice they had successfully located me. The alien was on its way to meet its family.

Even in the immensity of space, I learned, there will always be fresh difficulties and threats. My travels on this foreign planet were not without difficulties, but with the aid of others, I was able to get through them. I learned how important it is to keep an open mind and understand the value of friendship and aid, regardless of appearance.
