The evolution of fashion to technologically savoir-faire, fast paced international industry has greatly enhanced the dynamics of this industry. Fashion experts in marketing and merchandising have played a vital role in the developing global culture in the fashion industry. A program in this field offers an opportunity for exploring the interaction of design, merchandizing and marketing in the fashion industry. Important engagement in this program involves research in the trends of design as well as consumers, the rise and the diffusion of the phenomenon of fashion and successful management of fashion cycles. The industry is associated with fast passed, dynamic as well as creative environment and this is a significant motivating factor for joining the. I am strongly convinced that I have taken the decision to join the fashion industry at the most opportune time when innovative approaches to increase business profitability and augment its competitive environment is around the corner.

My inspirations to take up a course in AAS Fashion Design program at FIT was motivated by the craftsmanship and beauty that I attributed to garments.  I have a strong academic background and work experience that will possibly enhance my understanding and inner dynamics of a business. My potentials in making sturdy and strategic decisions in business will be enhanced by my academic credentials in MSc Accounting and Finance. I have taken core courses that include management accounting, strategy and organizational control, financial reporting in capital markets, corporate finance and asset markets, accountability, organizations and risk management offered at The London School of Economics and Political Science London, UK I also poses a detailed understanding research and analysis of historic sales patterns and seasonal changes in sales. During my career I participated in consolidation of information in excel files which was to be shared throughout the company. I am also skilled in planning and executing sales and orders of imported goods and setting up distribution plan between various. I also have vital skills in visiting markets to promote the company brands and collect information on competitors.  My past career also gave me an opportunity for creating a catalogue for the most successful brand in the organization.

My current place of work is PEG UK LTD which is a London based multinational company dealing with commodity trading. My duties involve offering assistance to the incorporation and set up of a limited company as a subsidiary of the parent company.  I was in charge of commercial and operational activities of the company. I also took an active role in communication with supplier, shipping companies and customer to co-ordinate smooth execution of shipments.  I was also responsible for analysis of historic sales patterns in order to plan and execute sales and orders of imported goods and sourcing new suppliers and negotiating terms and prices. • In charge of finance/accounting activities of the company. More specifically, I took the role of communicating with the banks for the financing of the company goods as well as working closely with accountants and auditors.  I also participated in identifying and monitoring the performance of competitors in the market place. I was also involved in the creation of company websites and artwork for some of the company brands. These requisite assets have significant contribution to global fashion industry that facilitates high echelon comprehension of consumer market in international standards. My consciousness in global style diversity and trends is at advanced stage and I am sturdily convinced that my creative agility, business acumen along with interests in fashion industry are important success factors in fashion as a vibrant international industry. I am therefore highly optimistic that pursuing a program in AAAS Fashion Marketing will sharpen and develop my skills and expertise and facilitate achievement of the goals that I desire.
