Speaking and Specific Purpose: To persuade listeners to accept  using bicycles to work instead of other general transportation options  because of the health benefits derived for the  alternative practice

Primary audience outcome: The audience is  expected to understand the value of cycling to their health. Cycling is a status life style in many societies, but the health benefits are not always emphasized. Positive changes occur in a person’s body when it is done often. For example, people struggling with obesity gradually lose weight when they engage inn clyclng. Iportantly many guys use a cycling device to enhance heart function. Therefore, if cycling could replace driving by car or bus there would be no need for persons to attend gyms (Chertok et al, 2004).

Thesis statement:  Individual should have a goal to include cycling as a regular form of exercise and a general means of transportation too to improve their health and social life interations.

Introduction

Attention Getter: In Japan cycling is a common means of transportation people could be seen riding in droves along the streets amidst traffic containing cars. Experts have contended that too many vehicles on the street is a pollution hazard. Road fatalities are also increased (Abraham, et al, 2004).  Consequently, Japan  has a lower rate of pollution as well as a healthier population than countries with numerous vehicles where people use cars and other means of transportation.

Psychological Orientation: While everyone desires to be healthy, our lifestyle often tell a different story. Our  daily activities ought to provide us with the exercise we need. This seems to have  been neglected due to technological adaptations in our lives daily. Practically, it means as humans we need to examine alternatives and make the best choices with respect to our health.

Logical Orientation: With the increasing health issues in our society it is mandatory that a healthier lifestyle is embraced.  Conditions such as diabetes,  hypertension, heart disease and obesity among adolescents is escalation in our society. Cycling is a valuable exercise that can reduce the incidences of these conditions.  In choosing a healthier means of dialy transportation could greatly limit the development of the aforementioned diseases. Many of them are due to a sedentary life style.

Body

  1. Need: People are becoming more conscious about their health,but too busy with other demands of daily living
  2. People go to work every day often with the use of general transportation options often contributing to the growing rate of pollution in the community.
  3. People need to know about how easy it is to get healthy and fit by adapting alternative. Transportation options facilitate this transition into a more  meaningful life style.  Besides, cycling costs less as a means of transportation then the bus or car.
  4. Satisfaction: The desire to be healthy is a goal. The effort one puts towards developing it shows how deep is the desire to engage in  life changing activities.
  5. Cycling is an option of living better and healthier
  6. It takes more than just desire; but the determination to actually become healthier
  7. Visualization: How one sees himself as he takes on the challenge of cycling to work would later become a personal culture of returning to basics in achieving health benefits that could be obtained from regular exercises (Andersen, et all, 2000).
  8. Once the culture is established goals should become manifest. It then becomes a daily practice or way of life

Conclusion

Logical Closure: This suggestion of utilizing cycling exercises as a primary means of transportation has two major advantages; one is improving overall health and another towards providing a safer environment by limiting pollution.

Psychological Closure: People who know what they want to achieve would be able to move through  challenges gracefully in order to achieve their goals (IntPanis, et al, 2010). While cycling may not be an easy task for some, going through it and knowing that this approach of regular daily transportation would provide  better  health, safer environment and less road fatalities could make huge difference in how individuals today perceive life (Jacobs, et al, 2010).

Clincher: The next time when stepping into a car going to work; think again and realize how beneficial it would be for you and the environment to use a bicycle instead and start a culture that will change your life forever and those of people who are killed daily travelling with buses and cars.
