Agricultural Science Statement of Purpose, Essay Example

I am a graduate of the undergraduate program in Agricultural Science with an emphasis on Animal Production and Breeding. From Qassim University, Saudi Arabia and also possess four years work experience in a pure breed poultry company as a technical manager. I desire to to advance my academic credentials in order to take advantage of advancement opportunities within the organization.

Globalization has also forced animal breeding companies to seek business best practices in order to improve production efficiency. There is a pressure to not only focus on animal nutrition and health but revamp the entire business model to expand the marketing reach of the organization. This is why I also want to learn about the commercial aspects of the poultry sector. I regularly follow the emerging trends in the west through internet informational portals and industry journals and hope to use this academic experience to learn how to improve both quality standards and profitability within the organization I work for.

In addition to improving my technical knowledge, I have also improved research and data analysis skills through my work experiences. I worked as a Farm Manager for Hail Agri Poultry Co. from 2005 to 2006 after which I joined my current employer, Pure Breed Poultry Co. (Pure Breed). At Pure Breed, I have managed technical operations as Manager and later Head of Rearing Department as well as commercial affairs as Manager of Marketing and Technical Service Support.

My immediate goal is to be promoted to Pure Breed’s Assistant General Manager before advancing to General Manager position. I also hope to serve in the education sector as a researcher and instructor at my alma mater, Qassim University. I am really interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Agricultural Science because it will not only enable me to help my organization improve its business model but I also hope to transfer my knowledge to future students at Qassim University so that they can help improve the state of Agricultural industry in Saudi Arabia.
