The most important aspect of healthcare in treating diabetes is to actively assess the issues on a regular basis.  This is essential in treating the disease, as daily lifestyle choices can have a profound impact on how much of an impact that this disease can have on a person’s life.  “Patients both with type1 diabetes and with type 2 diabetes are living well into older age, a stage of life for which there is little evidence from clinical trials to guide therapy” (Cefalu, 55).  For this reason, one of the most beneficial habits is to monitor the disease on a regular basis.

Come up with a diet plan for one day

The most important aspect of diet for those with diabetes is to eliminate fatty foods as well as overly processed carbohydrates.  By restricting eating habits to mainly fruits and vegetables, and maintaining the proper portions of foods, the health of the individual can be maintained.
