The New Task I am Proposing

My proposal is a promotion at work. I am a Business Development Associate at Universal New York, NY. My main responsibilities are gathering leads and conducting calls to develop new businesses for the firm. I also work with small and medium-sized businesses to introduce them to the firm’s products and services. The promotion proposal is to be a Merchant Consultant. I will take on more responsibilities in this role, including pricing analysis and creating marketing programs.

This activity aligns with my goals for the Creative Expression Project. My professional goal for the future is to build a travel agency. This activity allows me to learn various aspects of business development from my CEO, including organizational structure, building networks, and customer experience.

Fulfilling my Opportunity to Deal with Uncertainties

The promotion fulfills my opportunity to deal with uncertainties by equipping me with relevant skills for uncertain business environments. I closed many sales deals and built strong relationships with my clients. Additionally, I understand the company and its products. Thus, I will build on this foundation in the new opportunity. 

Proof of Completion

I communicated my plans with my manager. I had an informal meeting with him where we discussed the promotion and how it would benefit the company and me. My manager was positive about me taking the promotion.

Comparing the Level of Work to the Original Assignment

The proposed task compares to the original assignment because I have extensive sales experience. I closed many sales deals and developed strong foundations with the firm’s Vietnamese customers. The new task allows me to build on this experience and take on more responsibilities.
