Subsequent to the reconstruction and the Civil war, America got into the Gilded Stage where industry in America Skyrocketed. An outburst of fresh inventions and findings happened and the process was known as the Second Industrial Revolution. The railways’ mileage was considerably expanded, and stronger bridges and tracks were built, which dealt with heavier locomotives and cars that carried far more people and supplies at lesser rates. There was the use of refrigeration in railroad cars. There was also the invention of electric light, the phonograph, the telephone, and the typewriter. By the 20^th Century, horse-drawn carriages had started being replaced by cars.

Corresponding to these successes was the industrial infrastructure’s development. There was the discovery of Coal in abundance in the Appalachian Mountains through to Kentucky from south Pennsylvania. Oil was found in the Western part of Pennsylvania, and it was majorly used as a lubricant and in kerosene lamps. Large mines of iron ore were unwrapped in the region of Lake Superior of the upper side of Midwest. Steel Mills flourished in areas where these iron ore and coal could be put together in order to produce steel. Huge silver and copper mines opened, and they were succeeded by cement factories and lead mines.

Henry Ford pioneered the assembly line, which was a step in the mass-production process. In the late 19^th Century, scientific field management was introduced by Frederick W. Taylor, leading to the careful plot of the functions of different workers and leading to the creation of new and better ways for workers to carry on with their jobs. As a result, there was a rise to economic power in America between the years 1866 and 1900 due to improved communication and transport, the growth of free enterprise and an increasing number of entrepreneurs who were capitalistic, fresh technology and inventions, new techniques for marketing and advertising, abundant natural resources, abundant labor, and support from the government.
