History

Vannever Bush’ 1945 “As We May Think,” was very important in scientific innovation of the inter-war years between WWII and the Korean War. He worked with the Manhattan Project and created the first electronic digital computer. Bush’ “Memex” machine used connections from telephones, and marked paper cards, as an outsource instrument for human thought. Doug Engelbart incorporated use of Bush’ computer in an effort to assist with dynamics associated with groups, and efforts to problem-solve. Engelbart played a major role in expansion from the earlier computer to the modern use of hypertext on the Internet.
