Assessment is a very intricate aspect of education that has to be viewed as a heterogeneous tool of the educator; it may surprising for some educators to find out that assessment can be used both for learning, and as an evaluation tool of the learning process. The assessment of learning is a much more accustomed form of assessment, which has been explored by educators for many decades and even centuries. There are realms of assessment tools, scores, tests, and other inventories that indicate at which stage of proficiency in learning a certain topic or a certain subject the student is. Obviously, these tools are highly valuable in the formal process of education, since they help to understand at the extent to which certain educational efforts have succeeded.

However, it is also necessary to keep in mind that the assessment can also be executed for learning. Even under the conditions of making the final assessment and evaluating the ultimate results of students for a year, a course, a topic, etc., every educator should be able to draw guidelines for future development and advancement uncovered by the assessment results. The modern age is characterized by lifelong learning and self-directed learning; hence, both educators and students should not perceive the assessment results as the final point in their abilities. If the assessment results are high, there are still some directions in which the person can move to succeed even more. If the results are poor, the understanding of the core causes not confined to the classroom or instruction should be analyzed to create a more supportive, integrated, and facilitating environment for studies.

Hence, assessment is not the final point in a certain stage of an educational effort. It can be rather called the beginning of an educational path. The knowledge obtained during the course of education is compared to the knowledge possessed before those studies began. Hence, the person can evaluate the positive progress, which will stimulate him or her to move further, and add more knowledge, thus ensuring personal and professional growth in multiple educational perspectives.
