Research Paper

Founded in 2000, capital one 360 is one of the financial institutions in the US offering ATM, phone, web and mail services. Capital one 360 was formed because of a merger between the former capital one and ING. The organization structure of capital one 360 ranges from the top to the lower rank personnel. The company has a total quality management system that basically aims at creating consistency in product and service delivery as well as improving the nature of services delivered. Consequently, the company’s TQM strategies involve using the latest technological advancements to ensure efficiency in service delivery. Similarly, the company has put in place a proper supply chain management to ensure quick service delivery.

The Kaizen strategy implemented by the company involves uniting all the workers and making them feel like a greater part of the management. The six-sigma concept and the TQC ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Therefore, their various goals to ensure high quality production as well as proper scheduling and cost effectiveness are achieved. Kaizen strategy ensures that management at all levels are effective and delivers maximum performance. The control function of this organization highly emphasizes on quality standards to ensure proper service delivery.

Being a resultant merger between two companies, capital one has a proper layout and design. It has various means of reaching out to potential customers to increase the levels of effectiveness in service delivery. With the key performance indicators like increased number of customers, quality service delivery and expanding avenues for reaching customers, the company is certain to experience high growth levels. The company also engages in good capacity planning program that ensures all its activities run smoothly. This results in harmony and proper coordination between the various services offered by the company.

One of the major strength that the company greatly relies on is the rate of credit card issuance. Many people are applying for the banks credit card hence providing them with an avenue to market them. Through these credit cards, they can bring a large pool of customers to their side, hence resulting in possession of a good market share. With the stiff competition in the current market, the bank can rely on this factor to compete favorably among the rest.

Despite the above, the company faces a major weakness in its operations. Such include mortgage problems in the credit market. These normally ends up frustrating customers’ lenders hence pulling down the bank’s profits. A mortgage is one of the major avenues through which the bank can generate profits, whenever such crisis befalls it; there is a slow growth rate. The management must put in place proper measures to ensure that lenders are not discouraged to continue doing business with the bank.

Certain factors also threat to jeopardize the company’s activities. These include the housing crisis, which is known to significantly lower the company profits. The constant threat of charge offs to poor customers also discourages many from accepting to enter into a contract with the bank. This factor if continues for long may lead to the company experiencing several losses. Credit card write offs also seem to be a possible future obstacle. As the economy faces its worst crisis, many customers fail to maintain their credit payments hence defaulting or dropping off their credit cards. To ensure high levels of effectiveness, the company needs to set up further strategies to ensure consumers do not drop off from their credit card plans. The company also needs to set up proper marketing techniques to create further awareness about its services.
