Logic Models: A logic model may be described as a visual method of showing relationships that exist between project resources, activities, outputs and outcomes. This approach evolved from the early 1970’s in order to find a common approach for describing and understanding projects. In essence a logic Model is a depiction of what a program will do with the potential outcome. In its simplest form it is illustrated in Fig 1. Hence there are three basic elements (1) Input (2) Outputs and (3) Outcomes. Logic models have multiple uses and can be applied to small projects, processes, large complex projects or organizations businesses. Another name often used for logic models is that of a ‘road map’.
