Archeology: Its Status Now and in the Future, Essay Example

Alarmingly, the assumptive application of the principles of globalization directly hit the areas and locations where archeological finds are expected to be buried. Undoubtedly, the movement towards industrialization is beginning to touch even the least explored areas around the globe during the past 10 years. In the article of Ricardo Elia, he noted that this condition in the world endangers the solidity and the antiquity of the genuine archeological finds that are labeled to define the different phases of human history (1991, 97). The selling of antiquities to museums has increased in number ever since the beginning of the campaign for industrialization began to embrace the modern human community. This aspect could be assumed as a sense of crossroad between the old and the new world and how archeology binds it as mentioned by Bruce Trigger (276). Nevertheless, the genuine definition of archeological finds is highly jeopardized by such movement.

Understanding this matter considerably gives an indicative presentation on the problem that archeology is faced with today. Could it be that the movement towards industrialization be the primary reason for the loss of ingenuity of the said aspect of history and science? Hopefully, the desire to go further and to acquire better advancements in the society would not create holes of specific loses in the field of archeology which is expected to create a more valuable presentation of the human history. Information technology, also a part of modern living, is also posing a great impact on the solidity of archeological data that is presented to the public. Understandably, it could be realized that with the supposed concern for control on both industrialization and the utilization of information technology, the solid value of archeology could still be saved for the sake of retaining facts and truths about the past still intact even in the future years to come along.
