Pages: 1

Words: 263

Essay

Taxes are at their lowest since 1950, yes they are!

There will be 15% of discretionary spending to help cut taxes. Our budget is over because the Republicans have signed a 8 billion tax cut. Is this good for the public? Yes, there has been a tobacco tax, tanning tax and medicaite tax since Obama has been in office. Americans are paying less federal taxes under Obama than Bush for the third year and at the lowest level since 19I50.

Top marginal tax rates were at 91% when Bush was in office. People like tax cuts. Representative Sanders says the tax cuts are out of control because the huge tax breaks help the rich upper class rather than the middle class. These massive tax breaks help to drive up the national deficit and debt. There needs to be a median found to help cut taxes for the middle class and poor.

Last year Chevron, Exxon and General Motors paid zero percent in taxes. These tax breaks need to cease. The wealthiest companies don’t contribute anything and the nation’s budget and middle class aare paying for it. The large corporations are the wealthiest entities in the country. This needs to cease to get the nation out of debt.

We have to ask the wealthiest people to start paying their taxes, a fair share. The middle class should be supported with tax breaks but are not. What are we going to do about this? Well the answer is easy; make the large corporations and the wealthiest millionaires pay their taxes.
