Introduction

The image depicted is one of naturalistic form.  The artist possesses a romanticized feeling about the painting. Romanticism is depicted by the main subject of the image in a most emotional and fanciful way. There is also, depiction of idealistic symbolism by use of the King Pharaoh and animal.  Further, the abstract elements are clearly depicted as the artist conveys the essence of the light blue, blue and white background’s that of the image being of one in a jumping in the air, as well as two men keeping it aloft there. The saturation of the blue concurs my feelings towards the abstract elements. The expressive qualities of the colors depicted in the image, as well as the “border” of the image depicts that of happiness and freedom, while with a contrasting view, it almost seems that there is turmoil trying to eject the figure on his back. The intensity of the color is dominant. The expressive qualities of the shape convey the image is created upon some kind of stone. Further it is postured after closed shapes with expressive qualities of lines throughout. The biomorphic shapes, as well as the irregular and regular lines, lead me to believe the style of the image is an archeological illusion rich full of distinct formal elements. Again a contrasting view is that of idealism and real world. I hold this interpretation of the image after reading “the introduction” of the history of the arts in relation to the way.

Harmony of Color and Tone and Lines

Art in Theory suggests that art methods can never be discounted because material to effects is not merely of art composition, but also all beauty whether perceived or found in nature.  The objective of this statement is to state that beauty can be found in all dimensions of art.  Requirements of proportion of harmony in line and color as so related to the final product of beauty are a normal consequence of its general beauty. One does not need to look in other perils to find consonance for it is within the painting itself. Rhythm and proportion while painting aid in harmony of tone to be correlated to harmony of color. This reflects Art Theory!  You might question in what way does this fit into this image of beauty? Just as music and poetry are appealing to the ear this image is composed of elements that are appealing to the eye in the order of space. In this image symbolism of colors was used in great effect depicting the images and characteristics of what I perceive to be a Pharaoh King and animal. Colors of black, red, yellow, blue and green are prevalent in this image. Horizontal and vertical lines are used to maintain correct proportion of the images.

Composition and Drawing

This image reminds me of a reproduction of a visual impression of an object represented to paint.  This was often seen in Egyptian paintings. Composition is created by a constant reproduction of the same image over and over. Studies of different animal movements have to be attained in order to produce this image in painting.

Style and Aesthetic Beauty

This image appears to not only reflect reality but to replace and perpetuate it. The image is a depiction of idealized symbols intending to be more enduring than otherwise possible in the real world.  There is a combination of the real with the ideal.

Conclusion

My Perception of this image is to be a beautiful composition of identified work towards meeting one common purpose which is a reflection of the real and idealistic world ever so present at the time. With that said, the naturalized romanticized feeling comes from the use of colors and lines to blend into a coercion of this masterpiece.
