Introduction

The issue over gun control has been a usual source of debate among the different institutions concerned in establishing peace and security all around the globe. Relatively, the United Nations [being the primary peace keeping entity in the world today] recognizes the fact that guns are already a part of the human society. Its existence cannot be erased by simply banning ownership of the said item among individuals who wish to posses it. Relatively though, it is with this particular sense of incapable handling of controlling gun ownership that is assumed by some to be the source of the increased rate of crimes especially in highly populated areas including highly urbanized locations around the globe.

The alarming rise of the series of shootings in public areas resulting to several individuals dying in the hands of one person who cannot control his capacity to use a gun has created different points of notions that has raised issues among organizations aiming to provide protection to the society. Guns are basically items. Lifeless as they are, it is often asked whether or not they should be blamed for how humans utilize them. In the discussion that follows, an argument with regards the willingness of humans to become more responsible handlers of guns is deemed to be at a higher possibility of resolving the issues of massive shootings in different locations around the globe. It is assumed that it is the alteration of the human behavior that can resolve issues relating to the problems of social chaos due to improper use of guns and owned weapons. Instead of banning the use of guns or that of its ownership, it is deemed more important to consider dealing with the behavior of the humans involved in the said situation. To support the arguments presented in this discussion, a distinctive utilization of several articles shall be considered so as to create a reliable stance in consideration with the issue concerned.

The Evolution behind the Creation of Guns

The creation of guns dates back in the ancient years when the human society decided to establish power in the communities they were living in. Back then, the ownership of a gun comes with high secular position in the community. No commoner is given the chance to have such power over others. Relatively, it is the leaders who have the right to own a power that could implicate death on the being of others. Implicating death through guns or any particular kind of weaponry is then considered as a source of impeccable power that should be given only to those who can control it.

During the war years, the production of guns, both low and high grade, has become a common source of living for those industries that produce them. Relatively, this particular part of the human history’s era has given birth to the role of guns in the establishment of a society that is fearsome of the most fearful situations that bounded the society then. Understandably, it is through this particular role that the evolution of gun’s reputation in the modern human society has become fully redefined. Even though the war years have ended, it could be realized that guns still represent protection and power as it did during the said years of civil chaos and international disagreements between nations.

At present, the production of guns has specifically created a life-source for many of the individuals enjoined in the industry. In consideration with these, several individuals in the society do appreciate and support the said source of weaponry. Most of these individuals consider guns to be a source of protection. With the rate of crimes that are happening, it was seemingly an important matter to own a gun to be able to protect themselves from possible intruders of their safety. The law has relatively allowed such conditions of possession. Nevertheless, the said clause of the law did not come with total annihilation of the supposed badness that is presented by the crimes. Understandably, it could be realized that the possession of such time has given the owners a sense of power and a sense of confidence especially when it comes to the capability they have to protect themselves. The negative aspect of such power though is the psychological confidence that the owners have in connection to the capacity they have to control others through the authority that the guns give them.

The question however is in consideration with the possibility of actually seeing the impact of owning a gun towards the development of the behavior of humans in relation to their connection with others. Several shootings reported through time has often involved individuals who are not even at the proper age of handling the said weapon. Most of them having less control of themselves and their capacity of thinking; question is, how come they can easily get gun and have control over others upon such ownership? Are the laws of gun ownership actually lapse to consider the need to understand that individuals who are to take ownership of a gun should be of good condition of thinking? Is this particular situation making a great impact on the need of establishing a law that bans the possession of guns? All these searching questions with regards the ownership of a gun specifically raises another query, should it be the gun ownership that should be adjusted, or should it be the human behavior that should be reexamined?

What Constitutes Badness?

As observed by sociologists, badness basically comes from the basis of human distinction of right and wrong. Relatively, when one chooses to live according to what is wrong [due to certain life circumstances], badness becomes the relative result of the actions he decides to consider. This then indicates that badness comes from different aspects of developing life circumstances the human individuals get involved with. Some are forced into utilizing the guns to protect themselves while some others feel the urgency to use it simply to impose harm on others. Most of the shootings that happened lately in the American regions specifically resulted from uncontrolled manner of thinking. The suspects on the said shootings have been considered to have specific problems especially in relation to their mental capabilities.

Does this mean that when it comes to unmanned shootings, it is usually the incapability to think properly that should be blamed? Humans experience different levels of rage. Often, this particular rage is accompanied by the occurrence of emotional imbalance, which results, to the aspect of becoming less able to seek proper ways of deciding on matters. Individuals governed by rage often seek to find ways to be able to make specific hurtful implications on others just so to release their discouragements on both themselves and the society that they are living in. It is from this particular imbalance of thinking that comes undefined decisions which often costs the lives of innocent individuals who happen to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. It is in this particular situation that the process of understanding who should own a gun should be given attention to. The capacity of a person to think properly is a primary requirement for gun ownership. Legal documents are supposed to be required before any particular weapon is released to anyone. Relatively though, this does not happen properly all the time.

The creators of the law sincerely hope to seek resolutions that could at least lessen the occurrences of distinct public shootings that cost the lives of innocent individuals. Among the desperate resolutions that they have consistently pushed to be established is that of the banning of gun ownership especially among locals who are not trained to handle the said weapon. This approach however has its own disadvantages. It has been feared that the banning of guns in the local market would actually increase its being involved in the black market, which would become much harder to control. With such situation, the price of guns would be expected to rise hence causing hopeful owners to simply find ways to get what they want. As it is, most of the compulsive individuals wanting to have their own guns are specifically insane enough to want the said weapons enough that they would be ready to do anything just to be able to take possession of the said item. When this actually happens, it is expected that somehow the desire to ban guns does not resolve anything instead it even increases the essence of badness among humans therefore redefining the path that the problems take.

Conclusion

From the implicative discoveries presented in this discussion, it could be analyzed that human behavior plays a great role in defining the actual role of guns in the society. True, it is simply an item that has been produced for the powerful and the authorities. Through the years, the evolution of gun and its production has caused several set of choices for humans to take especially in relation to how relatively responsible they are supposed to be when it comes handling the weapon for personal use. The psychology behind the power that guns give cannot be fully accounted against the said weapons. Instead, it is the perception of humans with regards the control and power it provides them with that makes the gun a source of badness. Understandably, through years of study, it is not the weapon that should be adjusted, instead, it is the behavior of humans with regards the assumption of power, control and the desire of protection that should be adjusted. Guns are items that cannot be removed in the face of human history. Working around it through reestablishing the attitude of humans about it is then the considerable resolution that could reduce crimes resulting from the unwarranted use of guns. Establishing more specific laws and clauses of limitations that could provide a greater aspect of knowing who could be given the license to posses the weapon could reduce the manner by which the said item is released to irresponsible individuals.

It is expected that through time, the utilization of guns would continue to evolve. If the problems relating to unwarranted human behavior towards its use do not get resolved at present, then it could be assumed that the future between humans and guns shall be deem enough to cause the lost of hundreds if not thousands of innocent lives in particularly large public shootings like those that have already happened in the recent years. Understandably, with the need to control the situation at present, it is essential that specific laws be outlined to make sure that guns do not get into the hands of irresponsible individuals who are not sane enough to handle the proper condition of owning a gun and using it for personal protection and nothing more than that. With such an assurance, the role of guns in protecting people shall be better established and the need to release proper licenses to the right people who want to own a gun for the sake of protection could be better given specific instructions hence allowing them the protection they deserve.

Overall, the resolution that has been considered in this discussion is specifically focused on the need to redefine the law and realign the thinking of the people regarding gun ownership. The need to have self-discipline and self-control in relation to owning a weapon as deadly as a gun should be an essential requirement to be assured before anyone is given the chance to own and use a gun [when needed]. Everyone opt to have the feeling of being safe, if it is through the ownership of a gun that this is accomplished, then by all means a person properly aligned to the idea of owning and caring for a gun should be given what he is due.
