Essay

For the completion of my academic requirement, I have decided to watch Beatrice et Benedict last April 27. I have seen through this particular play the real meaning of classic art. Before going to the play, I decided to research on the play especially that I wanted to appreciate the presentation beforehand. I have learned through research the play was primarily based on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. The play basically intends to present a comedic value to the classical story of the famous playwright.

When I got to the theatre, what I first noticed was that of the formality of the event. People were anticipating what was going to be presented and how well it would be given justice by the directors as well as that of the musical arrangers. Considerably, it could be understood that some of the viewers also had some background about the play and are strongly decided to see something new and extraordinary about the presentation.

As the presentation started, I noticed the actors give full attention to their song-lines. The actors seriously take into account on the intonation and the pronunciation of the lyrics and their lines. Each particular scene specifically provides a great distinction on the characterization that each actor hopes to portray. The gaily music specifically gives focus in the comedic value of the play. This particular arrangement specifically gives attention to how the overall arrangement of the play is created to be able to provide a distinct measure of classical scoring without necessarily boring off the listeners, the audience of the play. Overall, I could say that such experienced enriched my attitude and understanding of the real value of classical theater trying to meet the demands of modern audiences. I realized that this experience changed how I formerly understood what is really meant by the merging of classical and modern theatrical art.
