Behavior Change Eating Too Much, Essay Example

In order for me to change the behavior of an individual that eats too, much begins with simplifying your meals. There are many guides and diet programs have made it easy to change your eating habits. Most diets do not work for me because they promote changing the eating behavior with calorie counting, harsh dietary limitations and depriving myself of food and nutrition. The behavior change will work for me when I follow a diet plan with a realistic regiment that works with me. Here is my plan, which will be implemented to change my eating behavior and help me stay on track to meet my dietary changes goals.

One the greatest enemies in my fight against eating too much are the convenience of fast foods. The unrealistic goal of abstaining from fast food is not going to happen unless; I take small steps towards my goals of eliminating fast food. My goal is to slowly withdraw from eating fast food from 2 meals per day to a maximum of four times a week. The next step will be replacing myfat concentrated foods such as saturated fats and trans fat. My goal is to replace and reframed from eating French fries while replacing it with vegetables. My next step is I must change from drinking soft drinks to drinking water every day. The goal is to each snacks every few hours to ensure, I do not over eat. I often overeat because I do not eat for long periods before I eat meals. I will change my behavior to lower my opportunities of eating too much. My plan is to tell all my friends and families to be aware that I am not going to eat fast food every day. In addition, I will break the habit of fast food during lunch by bringing more snacks to work.

I have the support of my wife. She has agreed to help me meet my goals by cooking more healthy meals at home.One of my barriers is time management. My goal will be to make out a schedule to follow so I can avoid the temptations to east fast food because I do not have time to cook.I will challenge myself to eat sensible during the Thanksgiving holidays. My goal will be to fix one plate instead of three plates. I will eat with restraint and wisdom.I have solicited the support of my wife as a teammate to participate with me in these behavioral and eating changes.

The reasons I decide to make these changes are because my health has become priority and I want a long life with my wife. I want to eat better while getting in good shape. In addition, I have learned that eating healthy prevents heart disease and diabetes. Over the last few years, my weight has increase causing me not get enough sleep.

My goal is to sleep better, lose some weight while adding some light exercise to keep my heart pumping. Finally, the secondary reason I want to change my eating habits so I can learn about which foods are better to eat and digest.The project was beneficial to me because the health discussions made me think of my family. In addition, it helps my family situation because my wife wanted to be a part of changing our behavior towards eating too much. The project has made eating fun for my family, which makes me want to stick with the behavior change.

I will continue this behavior because it has a positive effect on my personality. It has made my entire family think about health. My wife has become closer to me because we are doing something to live longer together.I have other areas I would like to improve such my addiction to drinking coffee. My goal is to reduce the amount of coffee I drink every day. In addition, the coffee helps me study for exams but in the end it makes me tired and my grades may suffer. My goal is overcome my addiction of coffee by sticking with this wellness behavior change.
