Behavior Disorder Related to the Development of Social Skills, Essay Example

What reasons do you think Marcia would give you when asked why she dropped out of school or left her parents’ home? How does having a behavior disorder relate to the development of social skills?

Noting that she has had several arrests in the past, it could be that she would respond regarding her not being home for two months to be related on her frustration of not being able to live up to her parents’ standards. As a young teen, Marcia is noted to naturally deal with several frustrations due to the hormonal changes already happening in her body. On top of that, being diagnosed with ADHD even aggravates the situation. Her parents’ expectations specifically pressure her down and cause her to break out. In a way, her dropping out from school was the first onset of not being able to deal with such frustrations.

Completing school requirements is most often than not pressuring to a young normal teen. What more could it be for a young individual who is suffering from behavioural imbalances due to ADHD? Due to her frustrations, Marcia probably decided to break out from school to reduce the tension. However, if the dropping out caused problems between her and her parents’ relationship, then she would certainly opt to get out of the house and look for someone or something that she could get her frustrations out to [in this case, it is the mischief of breaking and entry case that seemed to be her outlet]. Her sudden burst of hate against a psychologist could be a sign of her personal confusion of her own situation and not a sense of rebellion at any cost. Her disruptive behaviour against the society is a mere depiction on how confused she is about herself and how she should deal with the dilemma of not knowing who she is, what she can do and how to manage her own behavioural condition. The sudden decisions she makes such as breaking in and entry in certain areas often define her desire to break out from reality and just find an answer to her situation. Sometimes, people with ADHD do things they do not even mean to. They  are not crazy nor should they be labelled as such, they simply lack self-control because they themselves have lack of understanding on what they are going through.
