Introduction

Behavior modeling is very essential in most work environment. In customer service work environment, it is important for the workers to have behavior modeling training in order to serve customers well. Barclays Bank (BB) uses a combination of training techniques to ensure that its workers and front-desk employees deliver exceptional customer service. Like BB, for most industries training methods have to be developed or obtained within a financial plan, there usually is logic of urgency for training, and schooling must be made accessible to those employees who need it.

The methods for training employees of BB include hands on method and on-the-job training (OJT). Hands-on methods are training techniques that need the trainee to be aggressively involved in learning. These methods comprise on-the-job training, role plays, and behavior modeling. These methods are model for developing exact talents, understanding how skills and conducts can be transferred to the profession, experiencing all aspects of finishing a task, or dealing with interpersonal matters that arise on the job. On-the-job training (OJT) refers to fresh or inexperienced workers learning in the job setting and during vocation by observing colleagues or managers performing the duty and trying to emulate their behavior. OJT is one of the oldest and most utilized kinds of informal training. It is perceived informal since it does not necessarily happen as part of a training agenda and because peers, managers or mentors act as trainers (DeRouin, & Salas, 2005). If OJT is too casual, learning will not happen. OJT can be functional for training recently hired employees, upgrading knowledgeable employees’ skills when fresh technology is initiated, cross-training workers within a sector or work unit, and orienting promoted or transferred employees to their new jobs. Formal training methods are also used.

Conclusion

Behavior modeling training assists employees to work effectively and deliver or become productive. Hand on method training is more effective and enable employees learn their role quickly.
