Regal Marine is a manufacturing company founded in 1969 and the head office is based in Orlando, Florida. It specializes in the design of sports and cruiser boats. Being a global company Regal Marines faces stiff competition from other competitors in the market and to differentiate its products from the other competitors, it has to be innovative and offer have high quality products to the market.

In ever changing business environment, Regal Marine products undergo major phases like any other products in the market. This product life cycle is divided into four phases namely the introduction, growth, maturity and decline. In other words the products are born, live and lastly die. With this concepts in mind the Regal Marine engineers has to work out their minds in coming up with new products. To achieve this, regal marine company has to design new products from the research information obtained from the suppliers, customers and the experts’ advice (Howard, 2004).

Manufacturing firm’s expertise possessions are the most valuable assets as they augment company’s capacity. Regal Marine has not been left behind as they employ the technique of using the Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology which speeds up the production process. This technology helps the designer in determining the manufacturing data like the material potency, measurement and even its weight. In addition it’s more reliable and accurate as it enables easy joining of the parts and more secure as the data cannot be encrypted thus speeding up the designing process for the company and saves time. In conclusion, the CAD technology is cheaper and more environmental friendly as everything is stored in the computer saving manpower for the company.
