Essay

Best In-House Child Care Services is a company that will seek to provide child care services that are tailored to a parent’s need at the most reasonable price. Best In-House Child Care Services is formed on the basis of the huge gap in the day-care and childcare services industry. It has been found that over 57% of parents around the world have a difficult time in finding people who they can trust to attend to their children while they attend to other obligations.

Research shows that over 43% of these parents only require a few hours for the child to be watched so as to engage in other activities. It was also found that the market had a huge deficit in terms of providing day-care services for children with special needs. Best In-House will fill in that gap in the market, providing day care services for a specific number of special needs children. This will require that the business venue be fitted with features that will allow special needs children to move freely.

The company has some primary values that will be entrenched in the provision of services to the clients. These core values are geared towards the optimal development of children, which the parents are most concerned about. The staff will create an environment in which children will have the opportunity to develop physically through games, mentally through mental challenges and socially through interaction with other children.

The product proposed is feasible as the market is currently experiencing a deficit in quality and affordable day-care services. The organization will provide a range of products to suit the different needs in the market.

The start-up will be capital intensive as the company will acquire assets as opposed to leasing. By purchasing these assets, the company saves on the maintenance and rental costs of a leased or rented space. The company will require fixed assets to the tune of $216,000. A further $8,600 will be required for operating capital. This means the whole start-up will require $224,600 for the first month. All assets are held at a fixed rate with each asset having a shelf life, at the end of which the assets is sold at scrap value.

The company’s salaries and wages structure is quite simple considering this is a start-up. The company will 5 full-time employees working 40 hours a week at $9.00 per hour. Three part-time employees will be hired to supplement the work force. These part-time employees will work 20 hours a week at $9.00 per hour. 2 employees under salaries (top management) will also be employed with another employee (CEO) as a figure head.

All employees will also incur payroll taxes and enjoy benefits such as Medicare, Social Security, and employee health insurance among others. The expected salaries and wage bill for the first month should be a total of $15,552, to translate to $186,626 in year one, $192,047 in year 2 and $197,631 at the end of year 3. This depicts an expected increase in the company’s salaries and wage expenses due to an expected growth in the production of services and increase in the number of employees hired on a temporary and permanent basis.

The organization will require a detailed database to keep information pertaining products the organization requires in its operations, the suppliers of these products and the orders of these products made by the organization to its suppliers. The database will continue the following main elements.

A table of all the products the company uses or requires in conducting its day-to-day operations. Each product will have its unique identification number. The table will also contain the descriptions of these products, the retail price of a unit of the product and the amount of the product in stock.

A table of all the suppliers from which the organization obtains its products. Each supplier will have a unique identifying code. The table will also contain the personal, contact and location details of each supplier.

A table of all orders made by the business to its suppliers, requesting for delivery of products. This table will keep tabs with every order, assigning each its unique identification code. Each order will contain the descriptions of the products ordered, the supplier to who the request was made, the amount of the product ordered, the retail price of the commodity and the total cost of the order in question.

This information shall be supplemented with numerous queries that are meant to enhance the presentation of specific data or information that may be correlated. There will also be two reports that are meant to make imputing records much easier. The first report will show the name of each product in the store, the unit retail price of each product, and the number of units in stock. The second report will show each distinct order that has not been received yet, depicting the date of the order, the product name, the supplier name, the wholesale price of the unit, the number of units ordered, and the total amount of money owed to the supplier for that order.

Best In-House Child Care Services will require a website that will be used to market the company’s products and services while engaging with potential and existing clients. The website will not be complicated as it will be set up to ensure a user-friendly and informative experience while using the website. The website will have a simple outlook and a simple design fitted with only the information pertinent to the performance of the organization.

The website will have four pages. The first page is the Home page. This page will contain all the current information about the company, news pertinent to the company and a gallery that shows all pictures on the organization’s activities. The second page is the “About US” page. This page has all the background information pertaining to the company and all the products and services the company provides in the market at the given moment. The third page is the “Contact Us” page. This page has all the information one would require to contact the organization’s management. There are different modes of communication shown on this page such as email address, mailing address, phone numbers and a contact form that a client can fill online and send to the relevant authority within the organization. The website is an integral part of the organization as it will form the basis through which clients make booking and receive updates that are relevant to them.
