Research Paper

Many Americans throughout the United States who are within middle class and live and healthy have found that through the years 2013 and 2015 they are being covered by the new version of the Medicaid programs which previously were only catering to the disabled poor people. Interesting enough, people that live in the 26 states including the District of Columbia will see the Medicaid program a whole new role in how they provide health care because, those states are under the Affordable Care Act which has help expand the coverage for millions. As for the other states that are not under the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid will cover the standard program requirements such as; children, the elderly and handicapped, also including those with very low household incomes.

They have made some changes as far as income range which has helped millions but hurt the others that make more than the range. In the years, whoever in those states that will be earning less than $15,500 a year, which also include adults that are not parents, as well as those families that earns a yearly income of $30,000 will be eligible to apply for the Medicaid program. Many of the people that will likely be seeking Medicaid will be, low paid workers, people who are unemployed, even those has just retired or now entering the job market that are not qualifying.

In the summer months of 2013 President Obama under the ruling of the Supreme Court was not able to expand their Medicaid programs in the United States. Obama’s original plan for the Medicaid programs to expand as part of the services in order to provide many Americans with the benefits of having health coverage.

Even though there was a rough start for the Medicaid in today’s world, it just so happens that Medicaid covers more of the United State citizens than Medicare.
