Introduction

I intend to talk about Buddhism and the reasons behind its popularity in America. Buddhism has gained popularity among Americans due to the attraction from Buddhism leader’s Charismatic personality.

Mediation and the unique advantage of Buddhism

Majority of Americans are attracted to Buddhism due to meditation and this is attributed to the fact that American culture and way of life is extremely hectic. A high percentage of Americans are implicated in cases of depression, suicide, alcoholism, drug abuse, violence and crime at some point in their lives. Additionally, Pressure, loneliness, habitual competition in addition to lifelong emotional timidity constantly influenced men’s life in America. Also there are assortments of health problems during their life. Consequently, most Americans perceive meditation as the best way to deal with this problem. The hectic way of life leads to confusion and this has motivated some Americans to embrace Buddhism which they believe can bring the needed changes to their lives. Through mediation, their life is reestablished and they are able to abandon the old habits. Among the Americans the practices of Buddhism mediation has received a scientific approval because Buddhism serves the purpose of a religion, philosophy and practice at the same time.

Conclusion

People who adopt Buddhism are not required to abandon their initial religion. That means that American Buddhist can hold to other religion belief. This serves as a motivational factor for Americans to embrace Buddhism.  Additionally, the demands of this religion are not strict compared to other religions. The religion is also ecologically friendly.  Consequently, most Americans are easily attracted to Buddhism. Buddhism gives emphasis to intelligence as well as thoughts. This has changed the system formal belief of Americans. The popularity of meditation in reducing pressure promotes the intensification of Buddhism in America and augments its reliability.
