Calling Myself “Crystal”, Essay Example

Pages: 2

Words: 415

Essay

A woman, by calling myself, “Crystal,” who acts up like a retarded. I have had done a lot of breaking the norms for achieving a goal of being attentive as scorned as well as I had been rejected from getting the society to accept me as a human being. I was not a retarded as I would appeared to be one, however. What social norm did I break during a normal carefree day? It was a day that I walked on the busy street passing by the shoppers, onlookers, and patrons. All of sudden, I glanced at the approaching person, dressed as a metrosexual dude, to come near to my powerful mouth so I could turn my head and scream in a friendly tone by saying “Hello” as possible. A chain reaction has been broken. This metrosexual dude was spoofed, examined my scream by finding out whether I need help or what, but the look of my face smiling and smirking as if there is nothing going on. This puzzling metrosexual dude did not say anything but gave out ugly half faced, scoffed, and then walked away. Next, the person, dressed as college preppy dudette, came nearly to side as my screaming tone sends away. That college preppy dudette, again, behaved the same way as being spoofed by the sound of scream in an unique friendly tone, examined my scream by finding out whether I need help or what, but then this dudette screamed back in a friendly tone , and said “Hello!,” both of us smiled as we continued to walk away in opposite directions. Finally, then, I spotted a dude who dressed like a “jackass” in combination to the upscale “mean girls” attitude. This jackass mean girl dude was again spoofed by the sound of the scream in an unique friendly tone, examined my scream by finding out whether I need help or what, but then this dude on impulse, strike back, saying, “Hello! Hello! Hello!” three times in a high pitch friendly tone. As a result, I was spoofed by the sound of this jackass mean girl dude.

Conclusion

The social norm that I broke was that the tone of my voice is not socially acceptable to the society, a certain social etiquette manner and a certain monotone when in greeting is of essence in the social life. The encounters in the street had responded differently to my tone of voice to which was an insight to the view of the voice in itself.
