Change Leader, Essay Example

Pages: 1

Words: 326

Essay

In my perception, a good change leader is the one who clearly incorporates company’s vision, knows how share and deliver this vision, and obtains excellent team work skills. Good change manger must aim at a quick reshape to the needs of a rapidly changing business environment, in order to meet the needs of the customers and enhance company’s organization. A real change leader should obtain great communication skills, and clearly comprehend the reason for change, what benefits it brings to the company, and the problems it solves. Of course, a good change leader has to ‘walk the talk’, thus he must be able to allocate sufficient resources for the change to happen, and he should delegate as much as possible, in order for every employee make their valuable contribution. Other valuable skills would be team building and team management. He must be able to bring people together into an effective team and keep track of their progress. “The right people don’t need to be tightly managed or fired up; they will be self-motivated by the inner drive to produce the best results and to be part of creating something great.”(Collins, 42) Thus, he must provide passion along with a strong sense of purpose for the change to occur.

For now, I cannot say that I am a good change leader, or that I am a change leader at all. However, I am sure I am capable of becoming a successful change leader and manager for my organization. First of all, I would consider enhancing my team work skills and communication skills, to be able to deliver ideas and suggestions, as well as to learn them from other colleagues. Moreover, I think I have to be more positive and optimistic, in order to motivate myself and the team, thus I will be able to take more tolerated risks.
