Research Paper

The discipline that was chosen is chemical engineering. Chemical engineering is a very important position in an organization due to the engineer’s capacity of coordinating the scientific foundations with the realities of manufacturing. Chemical engineers are managers of chemical, engineering and physical principles. The scientists that endeavor in laboratory environments do so due to the desire of being able to discover and produce new processes and compounds. When a product is devoured that may be useful, the engineer optimizes on the plan.  The function of the engineer is to transform the products from small scale production to large scale production.

The labor market for engineers is good. In Canada, chemical engineers can earn upwards of $80,000 per year.  There are specific fields where the chemical engineer may earn substantially more. The highest paid chemical engineers work in Alberta (Payscale, 2014).

The chemical engineer’s responsibilities include the large quantity manufacturing of consumables. In order to achieve this, the organization that hires the chemical engineer must plan a large plant. The process of working at task in the large plant places the responsibilities of the engineer between the scientists and the administrator.

The legal environment for chemical engineers is favorable. This is attributed to the characteristic of engineering being a value adding position. The activities of the chemical engineer enable the organization to expand, create greater volume of products or services and expand the work force. In a number of organizations, the engineer has a value adding responsibility. The highest paid chemical engineers are found in the petrochemical field. The present application of extracting petroleumfrom shale is a characteristic that has enables substantial growth for the chemical engineers in the field. Chemical engineers work in organizations that vary from the production of food water and energy.

A number of the recruitment efforts and social marketing efforts can be viewed at the Potash Corporation’s website. This is a website that Potash Corporationoperates for young professionals where they are given the opportunities to discuss their work and review the newest processes of production.  In addition, Potash Corporationenables the networking and the collaboration of the chemical engineers.  At the same time that the engineers are facilitated with the ability of networking, they are given information with regards to the top jobs in the industry. The organizations that advertise on the Potash Corp. website are allowed to promote their brand image in addition to the brand image that is possessed by the website.  In one area of the website, there are the highlighting areas for the young professionals of the month (Potash, 2014).

I think that the enabling of socialization is a good quality. The socialization allows the human side of the engineers to emerge.  At the same time, it provides brand exposure fort the Potash Corp. website and the organization that advertise on the site.

The recruitment strategy that I would use is to market the employment position by means of advertising on the Facebook and Survey Monkey websites. In this manner, the expenses could be minimized while reaching young professionals who have between five to twenty years of experience in the chemical engineering field. The timing could be advertised on a monthly basis. This infers that in order to fill a position, there would be as thirty day timespan or less. The budget would be dependent on the costs of advertising the position is in the careers section of the Facebook website. The cost of advertising the position would be the advertising fee to the Facebook.
